Future Card Buddyfight: Buddy Invasion!

Chapter 2

Tai and Kurumi were facing each other on the stage. Kids from Andrew's class were on the sidelines getting ready to watch the match. "This is a good opportunity." Andrew said. "We'll be watching Tai fighting. This is good to see how a strong fighter plays and to see the new stage features." The girls were watching beside the kids. "I wonder how this is gonna go down." Blair said. They agreed. "Ready to get started?" Tai asked. "Um, sure." "Alright then!" Both of their core deck cases changed into something else. Tai's was a multi-colored bracelet, while Kurumi's was a purple jumpsuit. "Wow. I've only heard of cases that can cover people, not actually seen one. That's cool." "Thanks." She said quietly. "Now lets get started! The blade of light and hope will lead us into the future! Luminize! Dream Shooters ∞!" "The robots that will fight for justice! Luminize! Hyper Robo Force!" "Time to raise the flag!" "Dragon World!" "Hero World!" Everyone was surprised. "Isn't Hero World new?" Rosena asked. "Yes it is." Stella said. "She'll be the first person I'll see play it." "A new world." Tai said. "Now, I'm excited. Are you ready, Flare?" Both buddy monsters appeared next to the fighters. "Ready when you are." A miniature robot was standing on Kurumi's shoulder. "Ready Kurumi?" It said. "Maybe, I don't know. I haven't played in awhile." "Just give it your best shot." It gave her a thumbs-up. "Right!"

Kurumi had the first move. "Okay then, charge and draw. I pay 1 gauge to cast Call, Super Machine! It lets me search my deck for 1 Brave Machine and put it in my hand. Next I cast Hyper Energy. I put 4 cards into the gauge. Now I call Card Rhino to the center! Card Rhino, attack the fighter!" "Roger that!" "I end." "Aw, yeah! I knew this fight will be fun! Draw, charge and draw. I call Steel Gauntlet Dragon to the center, and Twin Brutes Dragon to the left. I cast Dragonic Charge! Now Twin Brutes and Steel Gauntlet will link attack Card Rhino! I use Twin Brutes' effect! I can charge my gauge since it destroyed a monster. I end." Score: Kurumi-10, Tai-8.

"Draw, charge and draw. I cast Draw Away the Lackeys! It lets me destroy a size 2 or lower monster on the left or right on the opponent's field! Goodbye Twin Brutes." "She's pretty good Tai." Flare said. "Don't worry. I got this." "I call Card Rhino to the right and Card Serpent to the left. Ready Card Burn?" "Ready! Lets do this!" "Alright! I pay 2 gauge to ride Card Burn!" "Ride?" "Card Burn?" The robot grown 10 times it's normal size and Kurumi was transported to the cockpit. The kids were excited. "So this the Ride ability." Andrew said. "Alright! I pay 1 gauge to use Rhino's effect! It gains 2000 power and Penetrate! Rhino attack Steel Gauntlet!" "Rhino Crush!" "Now Serpent attack the fighter! Card Burn attack!" "Cast! Green Dragon Shield!" "I end." 

"I have to admit I didn't expect her to be this strong." Stella said. "I mean she came to the shop everyday for the pass couple days, but she didn't do anything." "Well, she is certainly proving herself." Blair said. They agreed.

"Draw, charge and draw. I pay 1 gauge and discard 1 card to equip Dragonblade Dragobrave! Next I pay 2 gauge. Born from an inferno, the fiery whirlwind appears on the battlefield! Come forth to the left! My buddy, RISING FLARE DRAGON!!" The dragon jumped over to his spot and let out a mighty roar. "I use his effect! When he comes on the field, I can destroy a size 2 or lower monster! Flare destroy Card Burn!" He flew over the machine and unleashed a flamethrower. Kurumi returned to the ground while, Card Burn was destroyed. "I attack the fighter! Now Flare! I end." Score: Kurumi-6, Tai-6.

"Draw, charge and draw. I cast Hyper Energy again! Now I pay 2 gauge to ride Card Burn! I use Card Burn's effect! I pay 4 gauge and put Card Burn, Rhino, and Serpent into the drop zone!" "This can't be good." Tai thought. "Lets do this guys!" "Alright!" "Super Assault Transformation!" The robots were combining while everyone was in awe. "Ultimate Card Buuuurn!!!" It was a strong version of Card Burn with a lion head on it's chest and a sword. Kurumi was in the cockpit. "Now Tai, prepare yourself!" Tai braced himself.
