Chapter 9

<<A NEW FRIEND>>

On that day, time flew in a blink of an eye, and classes have now ended. Rose immediately went to her work, the cafe name is Elements Cafe.

At this very moment, Rose who ran from the academy towards the cafe is now panting heavily with both of her hands placed on her knees as she struggled to catch her breath.

Not even a minute has passed, Rose felt a hand on her shoulder making her scream in fright.

They both jumped apart and looked at each other. Rose looked at the girl whose about her age. She has a short aqua-colored hair and shining light green eyes.

With just the shine in her beautiful coloured eyes, Rose can tell that the girl in front of her has a bubbly and cheerful personality.

"Ohhh, um sorry to startled you." The girl initiated the conversation.

"No worries." Rose answered as an awkward atmosphere settled between the two.

This time Rose intiated the conversation first "Would you like to come inside?"

"Yeah, sure!" The girl replied enthusiastically.

Rose had an ulterior motive of course.
*She is a potential customer!*

With that short conversation Rose walk in and head towards the managers office to get her uniform.

But when she was walking, she noticed that the girl is following her and when she head towards the managers office the girl also entered.

With the girls action, Rose knew that she is either working here or she is a close friend of her manager.

"Joy, you're here! How is your arm? Is it healed now?" Her manager whose name is Olivia, has a short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, look at the girl besides her.

"I'm fine now manager, by the way, is she my new colleague?" She said while turning to Rose and smiled at her.

"Ohhh, yes she is indeed, her name is Rose, she said that she is an orphan. She will be starting work here from today onwards." She smiled as she turned to Rose and introduced her to Joy.

"I'm Joy Fuentes, nice to meet you Rose! I'll be in your care." With that Joy reached out her hands towards Rose in a form of greetings.

Rose reached out her hands to shake her hands while saying in a stoic expression "I'll be there same then."

With her short but precise reply, the atmosphere around the three of them became stale and somewhat awkward, to break it Manager Olivia touched both of their shoulders "There is still fifteen minutes till we open the cafe so let's start working!"

The two girls nodded but before Rose get out Manager Olivia called for her "Rose, I forgot to hand you your uniform."

She handed Rose a neatly folded dark blue with white linings on the collar and on the edges of the skirt.

Manager Olivia looked at Rose for any reaction but found none, she sighed then turned to Joy "Joy, bring Rose to the changing room and also..." She paused for a moment then gestured her hands to her lips as it curved upwards "-smile both of you."

Joy smiled in return while Rose nodded. They both went to the changing rooms and as they were both changing, Joy who finished first noticed something and her jaw dropped.
