Look at how far I reached for you.
If anyone knew how broken I was it was you.
And the nights I screamed so loud
No more breath, nothing would come out
You always knew what to do.
Am I chasing my own shadow?
Shifting memories provide a mortar for my sorrow.
No one will ever love you like I do.
A knot in my throat. I can't swallow.
Your cold breath leaves my gaze.
No more suffering. No more pain. She says,
"Just drift away with me?"
My frozen touch across your face
No more waiting. No more fear.
I turn to her and say,
"Take your hand in mine, my love.
You are not alone my dove.
I will never leave your side.
You will be with me until I die.
Isn't life such a crazy ride?
Be strong... It's ok to cry."
Have you ever felt your world wash away?
It's easy you just wake up one day.
Shouting through the tears
You bargain for anything,
Hoping anyone will hear.
A knot in my throat. I can't swallow.
I turn to her and say,
"Take your hand in mine, my love.
You are not alone my dove.
I will never leave your side.
You will be with me until I die.
Isn't life such a crazy thing?
Be strong... It's ok to cry."
Fly away my pretty dove!
This world doesn't deserve you!
I will make them pay for what they've done!
Don't they know I can't live without you!?
She said,
"Just drift away with me?
Hold me until I am finally free.
Do not be afraid.
Maybe you'll see me somewhere someday.
Take your hand in mine, my love.
You're not alone. I'll be above.
I will never leave your side.
I will be with you until the day you die.
With you, life has been a wonderful, crazy ride.
Be strong... It's ok to cry."
With that final breath my dove will be free again.
