Babysitting

Amazing, just amazing. The Bounty had crashed into the middle of the Primeval's Eye, Lloyd and Harumi were missing in the jungle, and they were responsible for taking care of a baby they had rescued from the SOG.

Jay groaned in anger as he walked out of the shower. He had quickly washed himself after getting shot to the face by one of the broken rocket boosters of the ship.

He saw a black faced Kai with a towel wrapped around his waist waiting for his turn in the shower, and as Jay noticed him, he laughed at him and went into the ninja's quarters.

He walked over to his and Nya's bed and opened a small drawer inside the wall, preparing to change into a clean ninja gi, but was startled by a sudden noise behind him.

It was the small baby giggling inside his cradle in the center of the room.

Jay quickly changed his clothes and smiled as he walked over to the baby, looking him deep into the eyes.

He had always wished to be a father, but aside from a few babysitting gigs in the past, he had no real experience of taking care of a baby.

The little child laughed again as he saw the Lightning Ninja's face and took one of his tiny arms out of his swaddle, trying to reach Jay.

He just smiled back and leaned down towards the small one who immediately pinched his cheek and giggled at the flexible skin that caused him to make a funny face.

"Okay, okay, that's starting to hurt," Jay suddenly winced, grabbing the baby's tiny hand with a couple of his fingers.

The baby just giggled in response and gestured with his hands almost like he wanted to be held by Jay.

The Blue Ninja just shrugged and took the baby in his arms, rocking him back and forth gently while mumbling some lyrics of a children's song that probably didn't even exist.

"Hush little baby, don't you cry, it is just another stormy sky. It isn't anything to be afraid of, when it's over you might see a dove, it's a sign of love..."

In a matter of seconds, the baby's eyes closed and he fell asleep in Jay's arms.

The Blue Ninja smiled at the beautiful, small creature and hugged him gently, picturing his future with Nya.

Maybe they could one day get a future like this. Two young former Ninja taking care of a child together, married, totally in love, maybe add in a dog and a few dragons. And weirdly a chicken? Jay wanted a chicken.

"You're going to be a great dad."

Jay suddenly heard the angelic voice of his girlfriend and smiled, turning to look at the doorway where Nya and Pixal were watching with smiles on their faces.

"Indeed, you seem to be quite good at parenting," Pixal agreed.

"I don't know... I just did some stuff ma taught me," Jay chuckled with his cheeks beginning to catch a red color.

Nya noticed this and realized this would be a perfect opportunity to be alone with Jay after a loooong time. Before Lloyd called the team together, she had last seen her boyfriend two months ago when he and Cole left for a journey and used their mechs to start climbing the Wailing Alps in search of Wu.

She turned to Pixal without saying a word, only signaling with her eyes, but luckily she understood and walked out of the room, shutting the door after her.

Nya smiled and went over to her boyfriend, hugging him from the side. "When the time eventually comes, we're going to be great parents... You're going to be an amazing dad."
