Maggie's sudden death devastated Ruby and Silva. With tears in their eyes, they both grabbed their chemical guns and set out to find the alien that had taken their friend from them. Silva was fueled by determination, and Ruby, despite her grief, matched his resolve. As they moved forward, their sorrow turned to shock as they spotted Ian walking towards them.
"The alien wouldn't be after us if it weren't for you, Ian! Maggie would still be alive if it weren't for you!" Silva's words dripped with anguish as he directed his anger at Ian.
"Silva," Ruby interjected gently, attempting to soothe his distress.
"I understand your pain, but right now, we need to focus on the alien and the queen alien," Ian spoke with a soft yet firm tone.
The tension hung in the air like a charged particle, each word a spark threatening to ignite the entire scene. Ruby, her eyes still swollen from tears, glanced between Silva and Ian. She knew that their grief had twisted into something darker—a shared rage that now fueled their determination.
Silva's knuckles whitened around the grip of his chemical gun. His anger was palpable, a tempest within him. "Ian," he spat out the name, "you're right. Our target is the alien. But don't think for a moment that I'll forget what happened to Maggie."
Ian's expression remained patient as if he'd built walls around his emotions. "I didn't ask for this any more than you did," he replied. "But we're in this together. The queen alien—the one controlling these creatures—she's the real threat. If we don't stop her, more lives will be lost."
Ruby stepped forward, her voice trembling but resolute. "Silva, Ian's right. We can't afford to let our personal vendettas cloud our judgment. Maggie wouldn't want that."
Silva's jaw clenched. "Maggie was my partner. My friend. And now she's gone because of that thing." He gestured toward the dark alley where the alien had vanished. "I won't rest until it pays."
Ian's gaze bore into Silva's. "Then let's focus on the mission. We know the queen alien is somewhere nearby. We find her, we end this nightmare."
Ruby's mind raced. She'd seen the queen—a towering, otherworldly figure with eyes that held galaxies. It was as if the cosmos itself had birthed her. But what did she want? Why was Earth suddenly a battleground for cosmic forces?
"Silva," Ruby said softly, "we owe it to Maggie to finish this. But we also owe it to ourselves. We need answers. Why are they here? What do they want?"
Silva's grip on the gun relaxed slightly. "Fine," he grumbled. "But the moment we find that queen, she's mine."
Ian nodded. "Agreed."
The three of them embarked on a mission to find the queen alien and her guards who were roaming the Earth as if it belonged to them. Ian noticed their spaceship had landed near where Maggie was shot, so he knew they were nearby. Although Ian couldn't sense the queen's presence, he was sure he could detect the rest of the aliens. As he marched cautiously with Silva and Ruby, Ian tightly clutched Aadvika's necklace in his palm.
The night pressed in on them, thick and suffocating. The city streets, once familiar, now seemed like a labyrinth of shadows. Silva's footsteps echoed, punctuated by the occasional scrape of his chemical gun against the pavement. Ruby, her eyes darting from alley to rooftop, was a silent sentinel. And as for Ian, well, secrets seemed to be ingrained in his very genetic makeup.
They moved as one, a fractured trio bound by vengeance and curiosity. Ian felt a surge of energy emanating from the necklace in his hand. It was a relic from a long-lost civilization, and its true purpose remained a mystery wrapped in a celestial mystery. Did Aadvika leave the necklace there on purpose? Ian couldn't be sure anymore.
"Silva," Ian whispered, "we're close. I can feel it."
Silva grunted, his gaze sweeping the darkness. "You feel it? Or you know it?"
Ian's lips curved into a half-smile. "Both. There's a strange, otherworldly hum in the air - the queen alien has arrived."
Ruby's fingers tightened around her own weapon. "What do we do when we find her?"
Ian's eyes gleamed. "We ask questions. Why Earth? Why now? And what does she want with us?"
Silva scoffed. "You think she'll answer?"
"Maybe," Ian replied. "Or maybe she'll reveal something unintentionally. We're dealing with beings beyond our comprehension."
As they rounded the corner, they were hit by a pungent odour—a sharp blend of ozone and decay. The alley widened into a courtyard, and there, bathed in moonlight, stood the queen. She was ethereal and grotesque, her elongated limbs ending in talons. She fixated her gaze on them with her eyes resembling cosmic voids.
Silva raised his gun. "This ends now."
But the queen merely tilted her head, as if amused. Her voice echoed in their minds, a symphony of starlight and sorrow. "Humans. Curious creatures. You seek answers. Ask."
Ruby stepped forward, her voice steady. "Why Earth? Why us?"
The queen's gaze bore into them. "Your world is a crossroads. A nexus of energies. Ian, the necklace you possess is a link to forgotten realms and binds you to them. You are a bridge."
Ian's heart raced. "A bridge to what? Where is Aadvika?"
"To the forgotten. To the lost. And to Aadvika—the one who wove fate and now dances between stars."
Silva's finger tightened on the trigger. "Enough riddles. Tell us your purpose."
The queen's laughter resonated like a collision of a thousand galaxies. "Purpose? We are but threads in a grand design. You, too, are woven. Seek the truth, Ian. But be cautious, as it can unravel one's sanity."
And with that, she dissolved into stardust, leaving them standing in the courtyard, hearts pounding, minds fractured.
Ruby turned to Ian. "Aadvika. Who is she?"
Ian's grip on the necklace tightened. "Someone who trusted me completely that I would save her."
Silva spat on the ground. "Salvation? More like damnation."
