Devraj Varma, a billionaire CEO, is deeply rooted in a royal lineage steeped in ancient traditions. Each decade, he faithfully returns to his ancestral village, Shiva Ganga, to perform a sacred puja. During this year's ritual, destiny takes a surpri...
"You look lost in thought," he said, his voice gentle.
Anika turned to face him, a wistful smile playing on her lips. "I was just thinking about you and Yuvraj," she said, her voice soft. "Your bond is unlike anything I've ever seen."
Devraj paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "We've been through a lot together, Yuvraj and I," he began. "We've shared secrets, dreams, and fears. We've been there for each other through thick and thin."
Anika nodded, her interest piqued. "It's like you're brothers in a different sense," she observed.
Devraj smiled wryly. "In a way, we are," he admitted. "People often compare us to Ram and Lakshman."
Anika's eyebrows raised in curiosity. "Ram and Lakshman?" she echoed.
Devraj nodded. "In Hindu mythology, Ram and Lakshman were brothers, inseparable companions. Ram was the ideal king, wise and just, while Lakshman was his loyal and fearless protector."
Anika listened intently, her mind racing. "And you see yourself as Ram?" she asked.
Devraj hesitated. "I'm not sure," he admitted. "Ram was a perfect man, a role model for all. I'm flawed, Anika. I've made mistakes."
Anika reached out and took his hand. "But you're also a good man," she said softly. "You're kind, compassionate, and selfless. That's what makes you a leader."
Devraj smiled, touched by her words. "And Yuvraj," he continued, "he's definitely my Lakshman. Loyal, fearless, and always there to protect me even he knew that I am not needed of someone's protection but he wants to do it to make himself feel at ease."
Devraj smiled. "He's a natural leader, you know. He has a charisma that draws people to him. And yet, he remains grounded, always true to himself."
Anika thought about Yuvraj, his quick wit, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering loyalty. She could see the truth in Devraj's words.
"He's truly one of a kind," she said, a sense of admiration in her voice.
Devraj nodded. "He is," he agreed. "And I'm incredibly grateful for his presence in my life."
Anika reached out and took his hand, offering him a comforting squeeze. "You're lucky to have each other," she said simply.
"You should rest, Anika," Devraj said, his gaze softening. "You've had a long day. In a few hours, the stylists will be here to get you ready for Yuvraj's introduction party. I need to finalize some arrangements."
Anika nodded, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her. The events of the day had taken a toll on her, both physically and emotionally.
As Devraj turned to leave, a question formed in her mind. "Devraj," she called out, her voice hesitant.
He turned around, a questioning look in his eyes.
"Are you...are you not going to miss this? The empire, I mean. Everything you've built?"
Devraj paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "It's a natural question," he replied, his voice gentle. "I've spent my entire life building this empire. It's a part of me."
He paused, his gaze distant. "But I'm not losing anything, Anika," he continued, his voice firm. "I'm stepping down, not stepping out. I'll be there to guide Yuvraj, to support him. This isn't about loss; it's about growth. A new chapter is beginning, not ending."
Anika studied his face, trying to understand the complex emotions playing on his features. "But what about...your legacy?" she asked, her voice small.
Devraj smiled. "My legacy isn't about power or wealth," he said. "It's about the people I've touched, the lives I've changed. And I believe that legacy will continue to grow, even as I step back." He paused, his eyes meeting hers. "The empire has been a burden, Anika. A weight that has been passed down from generation to generation. My father tried to keep me away from all this, but he couldn't. I and yuvi put our blood and sweat to rebuild this by brick by brick that nobody can touch it now. I won't let that happen to our children or to yuvi children."
Anika felt a surge of respect for him. His decision was not one driven by selfishness or weakness, but by a deep sense of responsibility. She realized that he was not merely giving up power; he was freeing himself from a life-long burden.
"Moreover, I have you," Devraj added, his voice softening. A tender smile graced his lips as he took a step closer. "I can face anything now, as long as I don't lose you."
Anika's heart skipped a beat. His words, coupled with the intensity in his gaze, sent a shiver down her spine. There was an undeniable chemistry between them, a connection that was growing stronger with each passing moment.
Before she could respond, Devraj leaned in, his breath warm against her skin. He gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her. In that moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them.
Anika's breath caught in her throat as their lips were mere inches apart. With a surge of courage, she closed the distance between them, initiating a soft, tender kiss.

Devraj's eyes widened in surprise, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Well, well, well," he murmured, pulling away slightly. "Who would have thought the shy village girl would be the one to make the first move?"
Anika blushed, embarrassed yet exhilarated. "Don't tease me," she retorted, her voice barely a whisper.
Devraj chuckled. "I couldn't resist," he replied, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "But seriously, you surprised me. I wasn't expecting that." Anika rolled her eyes playfully. "You're impossible," she said, trying to hide her growing affection for him.
Devraj leaned in and kissed her forehead. "Get some rest, Anika," he said softly. "You need it."
With that, he turned and left the room, leaving Anika alone with her racing heart. As she lay down on the bed, she couldn't help but smile. This was the beginning of something special, something she had never imagined possible.
