As the sun began its descent, casting a golden hue over the palace, Devraj suggested a drive to the beach. Anika, always up for an adventure, readily agreed. The drive was filled with easy conversation, the rhythmic hum of the car providing a soothing backdrop.
Upon reaching the secluded beach, they found a quiet spot, the waves lapping gently at the shore. A blanket spread on the sand invited them to sit. As they watched the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, Devraj took Anika's hand.
"I love moments like these," he said, his voice filled with contentment.
Anika squeezed his hand. "Me too," she replied, her gaze fixed on the horizon.
They talked about their dreams, their hopes, and their fears. The conversation flowed effortlessly, deepening their connection. As darkness enveloped the beach, the only sound was the gentle lapping of waves.
Underneath the starlit sky, Devraj pulled Anika closer. The air was filled with a charged intimacy. Their lips met in a passionate kiss, their bodies responding to the unspoken desire. The world around them seemed to fade away as they surrendered to the moment.
Their passionate embrace was interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. Before they could react, a group of men emerged from the shadows, their faces hidden in the darkness.
"Look who we have here," one of them sneered, "The king who stepped down. Scared of us now, huh?"
Anika's heart pounded in her chest. She clung to Devraj, her fear evident. Devraj's expression turned cold. Before He could comprehend, the hidden guards, who emerged from the shadows, their weapons drawn.
In the ensuing chaos, gunshots rang out. Anika screamed, her body trembling. Devraj pulled her close, shielding her from the danger. When the shooting stopped, the attackers lay motionless on the sand.
Anika, still trembling, clung to Devraj. "It's okay, Anika," he whispered, stroking her hair. "It's over."
Devraj immediately called Yuvraj, his voice filled with anger. "What the hell is going on? Why did you send guards here? I wanted some privacy with Anika!"
Yuvraj's voice, laced with concern, came through the phone. "Dev, I couldn't risk anything happening to you. You know the threats we've been facing."
"I can handle myself," Devraj retorted. "I didn't need you to send an army."
"It's not about you," Yuvraj argued. "It's about protecting the future of the empire."
There was a moment of silence before Devraj spoke again. "Fine," he said, his voice calmer. "But next time, give me a heads up."
"Deal," Yuvraj replied. "But don't expect me to stop worrying about you."
With the threat neutralized, Devraj turned his attention back to Anika. He held her tightly, trying to reassure her. But the incident had shaken them both.
"I'm sorry, Anika," he said, his voice filled with regret. "I should have insisted on more security."
Anika shook her head. "It's not your fault," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm just scared."
Devraj pulled her into a tighter embrace. "I promise, I'll never let anything like this happen again," he vowed.
As they sat on the beach, the aftermath of the attack still fresh in their minds, they held each other close, finding solace in the warmth of their love.
The next day, The private plane touched down at the estate late into the night. A sense of anticipation filled the air as Devraj and Anika stepped out onto the tarmac. The grand estate, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight, looked even more majestic than they remembered.
Devraj had initially planned to leave Anika at her parents' house, but the thought of parting ways, even for a short while, was unbearable. So, he had come up with an excuse to bring her to the estate.
As they entered the main house, a sense of familiarity washed over them. This was their sanctuary, their haven away from the world. They spent a few quiet moments exploring the house, reminiscing about their previous visits.
Finally, they reached the glass house, Devraj's pride and joy. The room was bathed in moonlight, casting an ethereal glow on the interior. But as they stepped inside, the serene atmosphere was shattered.
The once pristine room was in chaos. Cushions were strewn across the floor, the bed was a mess, and there was a distinct unpleasant odor in the air. Anika's eyes widened in shock. Devraj's face turned a shade of crimson.
"What on earth happened here?" Anika exclaimed.
Devraj's mind raced. He knew exactly who was responsible for this mess. He pulled out his phone and dialed Yuvraj's number.
"Yuvraj, what the hell did you do to my glass house?" Devraj roared into the phone.
Yuvraj's voice, laced with sleep, answered, "What? I forgot to get it cleaned. Sorry, bro. I had a...uh...a rough night."
Devraj could hear the amusement in Yuvraj's voice. "Rough night, huh? Is that what you call it? The bedsheets are stained, and the room smells like a frat party."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line. Then, Yuvraj burst out laughing. "Okay, okay, I admit it. I had a...visitor."
Devraj's jaw dropped. "A visitor? You brought someone here?"
Yuvraj chuckled nervously. "It was a one-time thing, I swear. I'll get it clean up tomorrow."
Devraj sighed in exasperation. "Just make sure you get rid of any evidence," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it," Yuvraj assured him. "But you owe me one, big time."
Devraj hung up the phone, his face a mixture of amusement and irritation. He turned to Anika, who was trying hard to suppress her laughter.
"Well, that explains the mess," he said, shaking his head.
Anika couldn't hold it in any longer. She burst out laughing, tears streaming down her face. Devraj joined in, the tension of the moment melting away.
