Devraj reached Yuvraj's residence, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The confrontation he was about to have was long overdue. He knocked on the door, his heart pounding in his chest.
Yuvraj opened the door, his face etched with concern. "You look serious," he observed.
Devraj stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low.
They settled on the bed, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken words. Devraj looked at Yuvraj, his eyes searching for honesty. "What's going on with Anita and you?," he began, his voice steady.
Yuvraj's expression turned serious. "I know this might come as a shock," he started, "but Anita is not just a fling for me."
Devraj's eyebrows rose in surprise."You're serious?" he questioned, disbelief evident in his voice.
Yuvraj nodded, his gaze unwavering. "I met her a few times unexpectedly. We talked, and I realized I had feelings for her. It's more than just an attraction; I care about her."
Devraj processed the information. He could see the sincerity in Yuvraj's eyes. "I'm glad you're being honest," he said, his voice filled with relief. "But you should have told me."
Yuvraj nodded in agreement. "I know, I should have. But things moved fast, and I was caught off guard, unexpected things happened with anita which i regret. But i am working on it myself to make everything right."
Devraj contemplated for a moment. "If you hurt her, I won't forgive you considering that now she is the blood of my love," he warned, his voice stern.
Yuvraj understood the gravity of the situation. "I promise, I won't. She deserves all the happiness in the world."
A sense of relief washed over Devraj. He realized that his brother was genuinely in love, and that brought him peace. While the situation had been unexpected, it was clear that Yuvraj cared deeply for Anita.
Devraj was still processing the information. "How could she look so different from the girl I saw that day?" he asked, his voice filled with confusion.
Yuvraj hesitated, a blush creeping up his cheeks. "Well, that day, I kind of forced her to wear something different," he admitted sheepishly. "I bought her this western dress, and I really wanted to see her in it."
Devraj's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You forced her?" he questioned, incredulity evident in his voice.
Yuvraj nodded, a sheepish grin on his face. "She was reluctant at first, but she agreed to make me happy," he explained. "I know it was wrong of me, but I couldn't resist the temptation and make move with out her permission."
Devraj's mind raced. He could picture the scene, and a wave of anger washed over him. "You crossed a line, Yuvraj, I knew you would never do such things "
he said sternly. "She was uncomfortable, and you took advantage of it."
Yuvraj hung his head in shame. "I know," he replied, his voice filled with regret. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
Devraj studied Yuvraj's face, trying to discern the truth in his words. He could see the genuine remorse in his brother's eyes.
"I need to talk to her," he said finally. "I want to understand her perspective."
Yuvraj nodded, his expression somber. "I understand," he replied. "But be gentle with her. She's still adjusting and I am a sensitive topic to her."Devraj gave Yuvraj a firm nod. He knew he had to handle this situation with care. Anita was innocent in all this and moreover they have 10 years age gap, and he wouldn't let her get hurt.
Devraj's mind raced as he tried to piece together the puzzle. "That night in the glass house....," he began, his voice low, "was it her?"
Yuvraj's expression turned serious. "No, it wasn't," he replied, his voice firm. "I swear."
Relief washed over Devraj, but his mind was still racing. "What were you thinking?" he asked, his voice filled with both anger and disappointment. "You could have put her at risk. If you are really serious about her, then stop playing around."
Yuvraj hung his head. "I know, I will. It's just I don't want to hurt her in my anger at that time" he replied, his voice filled with regret. "I was under a lot of stress. You, mother, and Anita, all throwing problems at me. I needed an escape, a distraction. "
Yuvraj spoke with a hint of sadness, "especially Anita is not even letting me touch her after that kiss in my room. It's frustrating me. Why can't she see the love I have for her?" His voice was a mix of frustration and longing.
Devraj's heart went out to his brother. He understood the pain of unrequited love. "Anita is just eighteen, Yuvraj," he began gently, "she's been brought up with traditional values. She needs time to open up, to trust you completely."
He continued, "Unlike the city girls you're used to, she hasn't grown up in that environment. She needs time to understand your feelings, and more importantly, to reciprocate them."
Yuvraj listened intently, his expression a mix of understanding and determination. "I know," he replied in sad tone, "I'll give her time. But it's hard to see her slipping away. Sometimes I wish i could kidnap her and keep her in my pocket with me all the time"
Devraj placed a comforting hand on his brother's shoulder. "She's not slipping away, Yuvraj. Love takes time. Be patient, be understanding, and most importantly, be yourself. Genuine feelings always find a way. Do not go to any extents which hurts her and her family."
Devraj could understand the pressure Yuvraj was under. The weight of the empire rested on their shoulders, and it was taking a toll on them both. But that didn't justify his actions.
"But that's not an excuse, Yuvraj," he said sternly. "You could have hurt anita, not just physically but emotionally when she came to know that out of frustration you went to another woman arms. "
Yuvraj nodded, his eyes filled with remorse. "I know, I promise i changed my ways for anita. It will not be repeated. She brought the best out of me." he replied. "I'm truly sorry. I won't let it happen again."
Devraj studied Yuvraj's face, searching for any signs of deception. He saw nothing but sincerity in his brother's eyes.
"I believe you," he said finally. "But be careful. One mistake can ruin everything."
Yuvraj nodded, his expression determined. "I won't let that happen," he replied.
Yuvraj, a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes, turned to Devraj. "So, how's your love life going? Any updates on the princess front?" he teased, a playful grin spreading across his face.
Devraj returned the grin, a hint of pride in his voice. "Unlike you, I know my boundaries," he replied leaning back on the head rest, a subtle dig at his brother's past escapades. "Anika isn't someone who would avoid me just because of a kiss."
A thoughtful expression crossed Yuvraj's face. "You're lucky, man," he said, a touch of envy in his voice. "She trusts you blindly."
Devraj nodded, a sense of contentment washing over him. "It's not just about trust," he explained. "It's about respect, understanding, and a deep connection. We've built something special, something that's worth cherishing."
Yuvraj studied Devraj for a moment, a contemplative look in his eyes. "I guess I still have a long way to go," he admitted. "But seeing your relationship gives me hope."
They sat in talking about all the tigs going on in their life and the office matters for a few moments, the weight of their conversation hanging heavy in the air.
"We need to focus on the task at hand," Devraj said, his voice filled with determination. "The Smiths and the mafia are a bigger threat."
Yuvraj nodded in agreement. "I already layed the nest and chained their necks. I will just play with them for a while," he said, his voice filled with mischievous smug.
