The wind brushed through her mermaid-like, pink and blue hair as she stood atop the Washington monument, her fingers plastered to the side of the rough concrete. Her teal sweater flowed around violently as she stared out into DC. A voice chimed in through her airpod.

It was glitchy as the voice spoke, but just good enough for the girl to make out, "your service sucks up there, Kayla."

"Aww, boohoo," Kayla stated. "It'll have to do until you get me that application into the CANONICALS."

"Keep dreamin' hun," the boy's voice stated. "You're still just the Frederick Spider-Woman. And it seems like it's gonna stay that way."

Kayla rolled her eyes, "whatever."

She slipped the split teal and rose mask back over her nose as she got ready to push herself from the wall.

"You got the location of my phone?" Kayla asked. "I webbed it to the back of that guy's backpack."

"Yeah... smithsonian," the boy muttered.

"Alright, thanks Ash," Kayla grinned.

"Just another day being a superhero sidekick," Ash muttered. "Wait, he's on the second floor... near the hope diamond... I think he's trying to steal the diamond or some shit!"

Kayla slipped her hood over her cotton-candy hair, "not on my watch."

She pushed herself off the wall and slung a web to a nearby helicopter, propelling herself forward using the momentum of the swing.

She slowly walked into the smithsonian, navigating through all the people as she made her way to the gemstone section.

"Alright, he's still seemingly eyeing out the situation," Ash stated. "He probably has someone to help make a distraction."

The entirety of the area rumbled and Kayla grabbed onto a railing for support, "yeah, I think you might be right." Everyone began to run around frantically except for a man with black hair and glasses, smoking a cigarette.

"Alright I found 'em," Kayla stated, walking towards the man. "Time to be your Friendly Neighborhood Candy-Spider."

"Still a dumb name," Ash commented as Kayla took her airpods out.

Kayla threw her hand forward, latching onto the phone on the bottom of the man's backpack before slinging it back to herself. The man looked at her and gasped.

"Shit!" he exclaimed, rummaging through his pockets.

He quickly pulled a small icosahedron out of his pocket and Kayla eyed it, "is that a dice..."

The man tossed the dice onto the ground and everything began to rumble even more. Kayla threw her hand forwards, a web wrapping around the dice right before a portal opened under the man, engulfing the entirety of him before closing.

"What the hell?!" Kayla muttered, backing up. "The hell just happened?"

She slowly and nervously slipped the airpod back into her ear.

"So the crook just fell through the floor," Kayla muttered.

"That's... not normal," Ash commented.

Kayla looked around nervously before shrugging and making her way out of the smithsonian, now with the dice.

She swung through the streets of Frederick on her way back to the apartment complex when there was something shifting within her pocket. Before she could stop to check what it was, she felt her entire body shifting and glitching until...

She was in the middle of nowhere.
