It was now nighttime, and Ruv was getting ready to go to Crystal's room for his therapy session. After mentally preparing himself, he started making his way to Crystal's room. When he got there, he knocked on the door, and Crystal answered.

Crystal: Ruv! You made it! I was worried you weren't gonna come!

Ruv: I feel like this therapy is very much needed...

Crystal: Well, I'm glad you joined us! Come on in! [Ruv went into Crystal's room, and he saw Espio and Kat there as well]

Ruv: [He looked at Espio and Kat] What are you two doing here?

Kat: Crystal invited us to help with your therapy!

Espio: She thought we would be good helpers.

Crystal: I hope you don't mind!

Crystal: I hope you don't mind!

Ruv: I don't. Where do I sit?

Crystal: Right there! [She pointed at a pink fluffy carpet that looked like a cat. Ruv sat down]

Kat: [Holding a plate of cookies up to Ruv] Would you like a cookie?

Ruv: [He grabbed a cookie] Thanks...

Crystal: [She sat down in a pink fluffy chair, put on some reading glasses, and pulled out a notepad and pen] So Ruv, what would you like to start with?

Ruv: Well... It all started when I was a kid... My birth parents abandoned me as soon as I was born, and then as I grew older, I learned to live on the streets. I had no home and very little food... One day, I stole a loaf of bread from a bakery in order to feed myself... I got away for a little bit until the bakery owner found me and dragged me to the basement of her bakery. She then released a group of snakes, and one of them bit me in the eye...

Crystal: Oh my god...

Kat: [Poking at Ruv's eyepatch] So that's why you wear this cool-looking eyepatch...

Espio: [Pushing Kat away from Ruv] You don't know if he likes that, Kat.

Kat: Sorry...

Espio: Anyway

Espio: Anyway... The snakes... Is that why you have a fear of them? [Ruv nodded] I see...

Ruv: It doesn't end there... I was knocked out for a few hours thanks to the snake venom, but then this guy named Yamanaga Toshkisugu came and "saved" me... I  thought he was gonna be nice, but I was wrong... He took me back to Matsue City with him and gave me a home, food, and education...

Kat: That doesn't seem so bad...

Ruv: It is... One fateful day after I won a chess tourney, Yamanaga took me to his office and... and... and...

Espio: And what?

Ruv: He... He did the unspeakable... [He started tearing up]

Espio: [Filling in the blanks, he cringed in disgust] I see...

Kat: You see what?

Espio: Uh... You don't have to worry about it, Kat.

Kat: Okay...

Ruv: It doesn't stop there

Ruv: It doesn't stop there...

Crystal: It... doesn't...?

Ruv: When I was finally able to run away from him with the help of my childhood friend, I was able to get a job, but the job was taking care of this very disfunctional family...

Kat: Disfunctional?

Ruv: Yes... An abusive dad and a pregnant mom. The dad would always mentally and physically abuse the mom and would always drink... The mom was too weak and sick to stand up to him... She gave birth a few months later to a beautiful baby girl, but then a few months later, she developed cancer... It was already at the final stage, and she didn't have much longer to live, so she made me run away with the baby... I got away with the baby and raised her for a few more years before coming to Hope's Peak and leaving her with a babysitter...

Kat: Well, that's a good ending!

Ruv: Not really... In my motive video... I saw her... And then... [He started tearing up]

Crystal: Just like the rest of us...

Espio: [He offered Ruv and teddy bear] Teddy bear? It's good to hug something soft whenever you're upset.

Ruv: Thanks... [He took the teddy bear from Espio]

Crystal: Take all the time you need. It's important to talk about these types of things in therapy. If you want to, of course! [After a few minutes, Ruv's crying subsided] Feelings better?

Ruv: Much better... This was oddly comforting... Thank you...

Crystal: That's what therapists are for! Anyway, I think this is all the time we have for today! Remember, if you ever need some more therapy, come see me!

Ruv: [Smiles] Thank you, Crystal... [Leaves]
