Part 19

 (The home coming)

After two wonderful weeks on Alexander Island, it was time to go home, Dontae said he wishes we could stay here forever just the two of us, we hardly saw the staff unless we wanted something. Yesterday we celebrated bae's twenty fifth birthday, and next week is mine, I didn't mention it to Dontae, I didn't like celebrating birthdays, for bae we had a romantic dinner on the beach, and we made love, but that wasn't anything new, we've been doing that since we got here.

 We said goodbye to the staff who took care of us so well, and boarded the jet to head home, I told Dontae someday we'll come back here, we looked out the window as we took off, we held hands the whole flight. I wonder what's been going on back home sense we didn't have any contact, there was no phone connection there, not that we needed to talk to the outside world, all I needed was my husband.

 After six hours we landed, we got off the jet and Mr. Alexander had a car waiting for us, we got our things and headed home, Dontae noticed the driver passed our street, he told the driver, he told us the address he has for us is on The Landings at Skidaway. I told him that's not our address, he said he was told by Mrs. Kincaid to take us there.

 Dontae said we never looked at the deed gran gave us, those houses on that Island start from a million dollars on up, I said gran knows that's too much, bae said there's no mortgage on the house it looks like gran paid cash. She did say let her spend her money the way she wanted to, and we thought we were really living growing up in the Hutchinson Island area where gran and his mom lives. Skidaway isn't as rich as that area but it's still expensive.

 We got to the gated community, and the driver put in a code and drove into the gate, we drove down and pulled into a driveway and gran and Mrs. Williams's cars were in the driveway, we got out of the car and the driver said he'll get our bags. We walked to the door and the door came open gran and Mother Donna said welcome home, I told gran this house is too much, she said she knew I would say that, and don't worry about what she does with her money, this house is ours, not another word about it but thank you.

We thanked gran and kissed them we walked in, the house had some of our things in it, gran said we can put that stuff away later, come see the view from the back,  before we did the driver brought the bags in, Dontae said let him tip the driver, the driver said it's already been taken care of by Mr. Alexander, gran told us to make sure we thank him. I told her we will, we walked in the back of the house, both our mouths came open. The view is stunning looking at the river, mom said where only minutes away from downtown, and golf courses here are wonderful, bae said that was his dad's thing, he's not so sure if he'll use it, I said yeah papa Charles love to golf, she said there's other things to do, and she's buying the furniture for us.

Mom, I get my inheritance I can do that, she said she missed my birthday she's never missed a birthday since I was born, this is her gift to us, gran said this time I was on my honeymoon, they can give me a party or something. Mom said yes that's what they'll do, I told her we can just have dinner maybe DJ and his family can come down, and I can see my new niece, mom had a sad look on her face, I asked her what's wrong.

 Dontae, Shareese lost the baby, he said no, what happen, I told him the baby stopped breathing, I wanted to call you guys but there was no service on the Island. He asked how's Don taking it, I told him he's dealing with it, and just being there for Shareese.

Since we don't start working until next month, I asked Sasha can we go up there and see them, he said I don't have to ask, we're going, mom said we have internet service so we can book a flight online when we're ready. Gran told us there's food in the fridge, and we'll have to talk about getting someone in here to do the cooking and cleaning, her days of doing that are over, she hired a woman to clean her house that place was too much sense it's only her. Sasha said it's about time, gran told us she has some traveling to do, her and mom already planned a trip.

 Sasha told gran she deserves it, and he's glad mom is going with her to keep her out of trouble, I said who's going to keep mom out of trouble those two will stay into something, mom said just because I turned twenty-five, she still can take me over her knee, she'll be just fine.

Gran told us they'll plan a special dinner for us when we get back, someone else's birthday is coming up soon, that's right my husband's birthday, Sasha said I know how he feels about birthdays. I told him that's the past, and we're doing it, he said fine he'll do it for me.

Gran said most times she has to almost pull teeth to get bae to celebrate his birthday, so I'm good for him if he didn't argue about it. Mom told us to come and look at the kitchen not that we'll be using it, I told her I can boil an egg, gran told us to go ahead they'll be in there in a minute, she wants to talk to Sasha, mom and I went into the kitchen.

Sasha, have you thought about reaching out to your brother, now's a good time to do it since you're going to be out there.

 Gran, I really haven't thought about it, I was busy, she said spare her the details of my honeymoon nights, so think about it now. I told her if I have time maybe I'll look him up, gran said make the time family means a lot, I said he might not even want to have anything to do with me, she said I won't know that until I talk to him.

 She took my hand and walked me into the kitchen, I said this is bigger than our apartment, gran said big enough to raise kids, have we thought about that, Dontae said maybe later right now we have our careers to start, and he just wants some time for us before we start a family. Gran told us don't wait too long she and Donna aren't getting any younger, Donna said speak for herself, gran told her she knows how old she is.

Gran told us they have to get going, they'll see us before we leave, mom said she knows Dontae, stay out of the kitchen naked when we do hire someone, he said it's his house, I said our house and he heard mom, she said he heard me, they kissed us and left.

 I told bae I'm sorry about DJ and his family, he told me thanks for saying we can go and see them, I told him he doesn't have to thank me, there my family now too, he kissed me and said let's check out the rest of the house, this place is nice. We went through all the rooms downstairs and went upstairs and checked out the rooms up here, we went into one room, and it looks like a nursery, it had pink and blue on a table, Dontae said he thinks gran and his mom put those things there. I took his hand and told him that will have to wait, we went to another room and there's a California King size bed in it, bae looked at me, and we started taking our clothes off, he said welcome home husband, and we made love, after we finished we walked around the house naked, and went into the kitchen and got something to eat.

 Dontae kept looking around, I asked him what's up, he said it's like his mom is watching us and he put a towel in front of him, I put my hands in front of me and we backed out of the kitchen, I said what are we doing mom can't see us it's all in our heads.

 We went back upstairs, and did it again, bae said this is why we're not ready for kids yet, we can do this anytime we want, I told him he doesn't have to convince me, I kissed my husband, and told him welcome home.
