(Closure)

Dontae I've been thinking gran is right, he said right about what she said about us, I told him I haven't thought about that, but about her saying I need closure so that I can move on, he said oh, by him saying about us maybe he does want us to be together.

 I told him I'm going up to ATL to see Jake, he put his head down, I told him I want him to come with me, he lifted his head up and said he'll go with me, he asked did I know where Jakes grandmother lives, I told him I do I've been there a few times with him. He asked when I want to go, I told him now, so pack a bag and we'll get a room when we get there and stay overnight, he went into the backroom.

I called gran and told her I'm going to ATL to get some closure; she said does that mean I'm giving Dontae a chance, I told her let me deal with this first, she said alright but remember stop, look, listen to my heart. I told her I'll come and see her when I get back, I told her love you, she said love me too I hung up, Dontae came into the room, I laughed he asked me what's so funny. I told him this is the first time we've gone someplace, and he didn't pack up every piece of clothing he has, he said it's just overnight and a change of clothes for tomorrow. I know he doesn't need pajamas, sense he doesn't sleep in anything, we left.

On the way I wonder what I would say, or would Jake even want to see me, but when I get there, I'll have the words for him, Dontae turned up the music and we sang along with the song, I would look over at him, well gran always said look.

 We got to ATL and I got us a room, Dontae asked me am I sure I want him to come with me, I said I've never been sure of anything I need his support, we left and headed to Jakes grandmothers house, when we got there I wasn't sure of the house, until I saw Jakes car in the driveway, we stopped in front of the house and got out of the car. We walked to the front door, I rang the doorbell, a few seconds later the door opened, Jakes grandmother looked at me and said Jake is out back, but he has company, I asked her can she tell him I'm here; she said no need just go outback and she doesn't want any trouble, I told her it won't be.

She told us we can walk around to the back on the side of the house, we did and Jake was out there by the pool with another guy, I just watched them it seems that he's moved on, I opened the gate and he looked at us, he said if I came here to fight go ahead and hit him, he's sorry for what he did.

 I told him I'm not here to fight, the other guy asked Jake who am I, he told him someone he used to love, the guy said oh that's him and walked to the side and watched us, I said it seems that he told his friend all about me, he said he did, he spoke to Dontae, he told Dontae there's cold drinks in the cooler.

Jake, I came here to get closure, I see you've moved on, and I want to do the same, I got tested and I'm negative, but I have to get tested again, Jake said no need for that, I looked at him and asked why he would say that.

 Sasha I'm not positive, he said don't lie to him he read my letter, I told him I'm not lying, he said so what I told him was a lie, I told him at the time it wasn't a lie, I got tested again and I'm negative. Sasha said but he knows I wasn't feeling well, I told him I wasn't, it was Covid, I took the HIV test too soon and it gave me a false reading, so you can go and live your life.

 Sasha punched me in the face, he said that's for not telling him I was negative when I found out the truth, Zack looked at us, I said I'm alright, Sasha said he's been scared to death, he asked me why I slept with Carlos if I loved him, I told him the first time I was drunk, and that's no excuse, the other times I wanted to do it. I'm sorry for putting you through all of this, we were young when we got together. I guess I wasn't ready to be with the same person for the rest of my life, and from the way Dontae's always looked at you, and he's here now does that mean you guys are together.
