Tour Trouble - Taylor Swift

Part 19

Ellie's POV

My last ever show on the Eras tour approached quicker than I had expected. LA had been amazing but it was now time for my last night on stage. I was terrified but I also felt a little bit emotional. I had done this tour for so long now that it has become a part of me. If I hadn't taken on this job I would have never met Taylor and I certainly wouldn't be going off to college.

Taylor was getting ready and the dancers and I were in a separate room. I was done early so I made my way into her dressing room where she was having her makeup done. She smiled at me when she caught my eye in the mirror and I waved at her before sitting on the sofa.

"Last show!" Travis said as he came in. I chuckled a little. It's so sad that everyone else is going to continue and go around the world and I'm leaving. It feels very bitter sweet. Taylor started doing her vocal warmups while Travis and I watched.

"Who am I going to take care of when you're gone Ellie?" Taylor asked. Deep down as much as I annoy her she loves getting to be some sort of a parent to me. She jokes around about it being a pain but she will miss having a maternal role in someone's life.

"Don't get pregnant. Just adopt a kid or something. No babies please." I told her and she nodded.

"Yes ma'am." She told me. I saw her look over at Travis who was holding back a laugh. She started doing more vocal warm ups while I went over some choreography. We practiced together then headed backstage.

"What surprise songs do you want tonight Ellie?" She asked. Why was she asking me though. How would I know? I didn't have time to even think so I shrugged and just got ready to go on stage. "Actually, could you play the best day?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded before going up on stage.

It had gotten to surprise songs and I listened carefully to what Taylor was saying. It took me a minute to realize she was talking about me. "Okay so, for the acoustic set I usually try to okay something different each night. However, I do also like to take requests. I don't know if you know but I have so many dancers on this tour and they are all so special to me but I have one who I just couldn't be prouder of. Her name is Ellie. A few weeks ago I adopted Ellie and unfortunately this is her last show with us tonight. Ellie... this is for you." She said before playing the introduction.

I listened as she sung the whole of The Best Day before slowly walking over to the piano. She sat there for a moment before playing the start of You're on your own kid. Mid way through I heard her swap to long live. She had welled up and I also had as well. Tree soon came over and directed me over to the platform that lifts Taylor onto the stage.

"She wants you to go up there." She told me so I nodded and got onto the platform. I rose up just before the end of the song and walked towards Taylor. She gave me a huge hug and the ground cheered so loud. I felt her kiss the top of my head then she helped me down off the stage. I watched her jump into the stage then I got ready for the next part of the show.

During karma I could by hold in my tears, I was practically sobbing during the last bow and thankful I was next to Taylor. Instead of holding my hand she put her arm around me and patted me on the back. I could feel her eyes on me and just before I ran off I felt her hug me once again. I wrapped my arms tightly around her then ran off the stage with the other dancers.

Taylor came off and rushed to find me. I continued to cry a little, in shock that it was the last ever time I would ever be on stage with her. "Thank you so much for this opportunity Taylor, I can't believe you let me do this for so long." I told her and she laughed.

"Of course, I knew you were a star from the second I saw you." She told me. We spent the rest of the night celebrating. I got to go out with all of the other dancers too which I never got to do until then. Taylor and Travis also came out. Unfortunately I was the only sober one but it was so much fun! I couldn't believe my eras tour journey had ended though.
