Taylor's pov
Ellie was feeling a bit down about Billy the next day, as much as I wanted to let her wallow and lay on the sofa all day eating ice cream and watching movies I couldn't. I had an important award show and she had a ticket to come with Travis and I as an extra guest. She was excited to get all dressed up nice so I wasn't going to take that from her, besides it's something to take her mind off it all.
I had to head off quite early to start getting ready since we had to be there by early afternoon ready for the red carpet. Travis had agreed to drop Ellie off for her makeup when mine was done and while I got my hair done she would end up getting fully ready. We had all coordinated outfits and I couldn't wait to get such a cute picture of us all together.
The hair and makeup process felt like forever and when Ellie showed up she practically slumped down in her chair and stared at the floor. I could tell she was still genuinely upset about Billy, after all she did love him and he was her first everything. "Hey, cheer up. Don't think about it for the night we're going to have so much fun." I told her.
She nodded and forced a smile before letting them start applying her makeup. We both got completely ready then headed home to get onto our dresses. I made sure to make sure Ellie was fully ready before me. I felt a bit emotional when I zipped up the back of her dress for her but we all know that's just my mom emotions, they're all over the place at the minute.
Ellie sat with Travis while I got myself into my dress then I headed over to them. We got a few pictures all together and I made a mental note to post one on my Instagram. I like a family picture every now and then, of course with Travis and Ellie's permission. I don't really confirm those types of posts with Tree because she wouldn't approve and it's my family and my decision how much I post about us. It's very rare that I do post pictures of us but the fans love it. Travis has even posted a few every now and then.
We all got in the car and headed to the awards show. Ellie was constantly checking her phone so me being the parent in the situation reached over and took it from her, putting it in my purse. She started trying to get it back but I refused. "I pay for this phone Ellie so I can take it away. Stop checking it because every time you see he hasn't answered you will just upset yourself more. Don't do this to yourself. Let's enjoy tonight and I will give it back tomorrow." I told her firmly.
"Fine whatever." She muttered, turning away and looking out of the window. Travis put his arm around me and pulled me into his side. She really is starting to develop an attitude.
Ellie's pov
When we arrived we all got out one by one. I desperately wanted to grab onto Taylor's hand, I was terrified and I had never been somewhere so busy in my life but I was still way too mad about her taking my phone. Instead I grabbed the back of Travis' jacket and stayed hidden behind him. Taylor headed off and got herself on the red carpet. We both watched and Travis looked so proud. They're actually so gross it's annoying.
"Hey you two, go get in a picture with her." Tree told us, beginning to fix my hair and making sure Travis looked fine before sending us over to Taylor. I panicked and anxiously fidgeted with my hands. Taylor must have noticed because she carefully separated my two hands then wrapped her arm around my waist and pulled me into her side. Travis got on the other side of me and we all smiled. I wasn't quite sure which camera I was supposed to be looking at to be honest and the flashes were getting a bit annoying.
Thankfully we weren't on the stupid red carpet for too long and we managed to make our way to our seats. There were people and cameras literally everywhere and it was a lot to take in. I don't think I ever experienced something so overwhelming before. Of course being on stage is a lot but you feel a sense of security due to the division between the stage and the crowd. Here we are in the crowd and it's so unusual.
It felt like we were sitting there for hours before it started. Oh wait. We were!
The more the room filled the more intimidated I felt, I could feel so many eyes on me. People came over to talk to Taylor every now and then but when she introduced me I didn't pay too much attention. It eventually got too much and when Sabrina Carpenter came over to say hi I didn't even have the energy to respond to her. She spoke to Taylor for a while and I could feel my plans starting to get sweaty. My legs were bouncing and I could feel my chest tightening.
I tried to catch Travis' attention as he was sitting at the other side of Taylor and Taylor's back was to me but he didn't quite catch on to what I was saying. Taylor must be able to sense things because I felt her hand on my belt gently holding it down to keep it in place. She must have also noticed me picking the skin around my fingers and biting my nails because she then also reached up and took my hand away from my mouth, his king it tightly in hers and gently rubbing her thumb over the back of my hand.
"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" She whispered and I nodded. She told Sabrina and Travis that she would be back before standing up and keeping my hand in hers. She led me straight to the bathroom and I completely broke down in front of her and many other insanely famous women. Embarrassing.
