The Grill was Mystic Falls' hot spot. Crowded tables and booths of laughing civilians, drunk, horny men hitting on strangers in hope to get laid tonight, lonely people staring into their glasses - A beast within them that drinks until they are sick but not until they're satisfied. It wasn't an ideal workplace for an introvert like Ravenna. But, The Grill was the only place hiring that was close enough to her. Considering she had to walk everywhere, even though she passed her driving test. A car was not something she could afford.

With much thanks to Kenji and Matt, she succeeded in her interview and today was her first day.

Adam; The older man that had been training her, rolled up his sleeves and was moving from one end of the counter to the other and Ravenna had spent the last 20 minutes serving up customers non stop.

Ravenna turned around and propped her arms on the bar counter, she threw her head back and huffed. Her eight hour shift was excruciatingly slow and every ten minutes she glanced at the clock hanging on the wall to count down the hours.

"Raven...Hi." Ravenna turned around upon hearing the voice of Elena. They left things a bit awkward between them the other night when Ravenna abruptly left her house.

Elena jumped up onto one of the bar stools and threw her bag onto the counter.

"Hi, Elena." Ravenna pretended to keep herself busy by crouching down and rummaging through the ice underneath the bar table.

"Congratulations on the new job." Elena smiled, trying to keep the conversation polite between them.

Ravenna sighed. "I'm sorry for leaving you. I shouldn't have done that, Elijah could've killed you." She stopped beating around the bush and apologised to Elena. "...I still stand by my point though. I don't trust Elijah." She continued on.

Elena shook her head. "Don't be, I'm not mad at you. Besides, Elijah won't hurt me."

Ravenna scoffed. "Right...So I take it that you accepted his deal?" She took a few steps towards the empty glasses that were on the other side of the counter and began to clean them.

Elena simply nodded her head in response.

"Where's Damon? He was supposed to swing by my house and give me updates." Ravenna changed the topic.

"Uh...He's kind of moody right now." Elena sighed. "Hey, can I have a glass of coke please?" She quickly added on and Ravenna nodded.

"Moodier than usual? Impossible." Ravenna commented as she grabbed a glass and added in a few ice cubes, she put it under the dispenser and filled up Elena's drink and handed it to her.

Elena thanked her and took a small sip before replying. "Rose died. They kind of hit it off."

Ravenna furrowed her eyebrows. "Rose is dead? How?". She leaned her body against the counter and clasped her hands together.

"Werewolf bite. It's fatal to vampires." She answered her question.

"Tyler?"

"Nope...Jules." Elena gave her a tight-lipped smile.

"Who the fuck is Jules?" Ravenna scratched her neck.

"Some woman who knew Mason. She's been looking for him."

"Yeah? You tell her to get a shovel and dig six feet underground?" Ravenna shot Elena a mischievous wink and her lips curled into a teasing grin.

"If what you're asking is if she knows he's dead. Then yes."
