LANDO POV

It was finally race day, Lucy was with me in McLaren supporting both me and Max, we'd all spent the last few nights, having dinner together as me and Max had been busy with media, practices and quali. She looked better in papaya than Mercedes.

"Good luck today Lando!" She beamed the most beautiful smile. I'd placed 3rd with Max on Pole with Fernando between us and Carlos behind. It would be a thrilling race, showing everyone that McLaren was back where it was supposed to be. She ran up the track to go wish Max luck too, he gave her a hug, she looked across from us to Alonso and stopped smiling, Max followed her gaze and tried getting out of his car, but GP held him down.

I looked over and saw it, a bruised face viciously smiling at her. The face I'd helped bruise. We'd had a lovely few days without seeing him once, now here he was before our first race. He left the grid, I looked back infront of me for Lucy and noticed she'd gone too. I asked Charlotte to keep an eye on her and she would. The race was about to start.

I DNF'd in the first lap, me and Carlos got too close and we both span out, with a few car parts scattered on the track so the race was red flagged.

I took the distraction, as my opportunity to check in on Lucy.

"Where is she?" Charlotte looked at me with a sorry look, "I...I don't know, I came to the garage and she wasn't here." Where the hell is she. I ran over to Redbull, to see if she was there, Max wasn't too happy when he heard me asking where she was.

"How could you lose her?! That dick is here and walking around the paddock!" "You think I didn't see him, when she came to wish you luck?! It was your car she walked away from!"

Everyone in the garage was now looking at us, and I could see our exchange on the screens, luckily our dialogue wasn't audible.

I ran to my drivers room to get my phone, I started calling her and could hear her phone ringing, but when I followed it, it was down the side of hospitality. She's dropped her phone, in a place where her ex is.

I really started panicking and was asking everyone if they'd seen her, but no one had. It was only 10 minutes since I last saw her, where could he have taken her?

I heard my phone ringing, when I went to answer it, my screen was black, I remembered I had Lucy's phone, it was Carlos, what does he want?

"Hello?" I said, rather annoyed. "Lando, why do you have my phone?" It was Lucy, but why was she calling from Carlos' phone? "Lucy? Where are you? Why are you in Carlos' phone?" "I went to get a coffee to calm down, I came back when I saw the red flag but you weren't here and I didn't have my phone." "I'm coming now, don't move."

I sprinted all the way to McLaren, there she was, with that beautiful smile, she was laughing and it was contagious.

I walked over to her and Carlos, "thanks for watching her mate, but what's so funny?" "Charles was just telling me the story and Max and their inchident" Lucy giggled whilst telling me.

"Charles? I thought you were Carlos." "No mate sorry, he had to run and do media, but he told me you didn't want the lovely Lucy to be alone, so I waited with her." "That's true mate, thank you."

He kissed Lucy's hand and walked off, she smiled after him. Why was I feeling a little jealous? I sent Max a text, telling him she was here safe.

The race resumed, I watched from my garage keeping a close eye on Lucy, Max won, as we predicted, but Oscar got 2nd. I need a drink.
