jonesy thomas and lando norris met in year 1 when the thomas family moved to bristol. the two were friendly, but never really formed as close of a friendship as lando did with max fewtrell.
over the years, jonesy and lando stayed friends, but soon drifted apart in year 8 when lando became more focused on his karting career and jonesy's family moved to london — not far, but far enough for the two to stop seeing each other all the time.
fast forward to the year 2024, lando is in his 6th season of formula 1 and jonesy is a semi-professional photographer — both in their dream professions. they're living the lives they both dreamed of as kids.
jonesy had always loved the sport of formula 1, watching it religiously with her family. she dreamed of one day being hired to photograph the sport and its drivers. she fell more in love with the sport when 2019 rolled around and one of her childhood friends joined the 20-person grid and it felt like she had someone to personally root for.
this love story starts just before the 2024 formula 1 season when jonesy suddenly gets hired as mclarens main photographer — taking photos during races and doing photoshoots of the drivers at the mtc — and the two reunite after many years apart.
the girl doubts that the boy, who's now known worldwide, will remember her and is shocked when he does. the two have to navigate getting to know each other again and the mess that catching feelings brings — especially when the dynamic is employee to (essentially) employer.
the catch is that neither are necessarily in the best place mentally — jonesy is dealing with recent losses and lando coming off a not-so-great previous season. will their newfound love for each other be enough to make things last between them?
