"This is so exciting!"

Lando laughed as we all sat down at the table to eat. The Monaco Grand Prix was this weekend and, somehow, Lando had convinced me to stay with him instead of at the hotel Mclaren had booked for me - not that I was complaining. He even let me plan a dinner at his apartment with Charles, Alex, and Oscar.

I had wanted to invite Max, but Kelly was in town and I knew Lando wouldn't be okay with me suggesting inviting them. Carlos was busy tonight, but he had promised he would come if he wasn't.

"I'm glad you're happy." Charles chuckled, squeezing my hand as we all began to eat our food.

Charles and I had somehow grown closer after our run in inImola. We told each other things and confided in each other. It was great. It's only been a week, but I've spent more time with him and Alex in the past few days than anyone else. Alex even joined in on our gossip session where all we did was talk about boys. It was some of the most fun I've ever had.

"Yeah, thanks for inviting us all over!" Oscar added in from the opposite end of the table, shoving a forkful of food into his mouth. "Did you cook all of this?"

We all laughed at Oscar, clearly he was enjoying dinner. "I did! Mum taught me how to cook. Is it good?"

"Delicious."

Dinner continued and the conversation never died. I think this is one of the best nights I've had in a while. Lando even brought out the dessert, which he insisted on helping me put together. It was honestly adorable watching him try.

He might've had to change outfits before everyone got there because of the mess that he made.

We were all still sitting around the table, finishing off dessert when my phone began to ring. I picked it up, seeing Ruthie's contact on my screen. Strange, she usually doesn't call when I tell her I have plans.

This has to be important. "I need to take this, sorry."

"Don't be sorry, we all love Ruthie, answer." Lando reassured me.

I slid my finger over the screen to answer the call, holding it up to my ear. I'm sure they'd be able to hear everything, Ruthie usually talks pretty loud.

"Hello?"

I definitely wasn't expecting to hear Ruthie in hysterics. She was sobbing.

My face dropped and the whole table went silent. We were all concerned now. "Woah, slow down, Ru. What's wrong?" My heart rate immediately sped up. Whatever it is can't be good.

She took a deep breath, obviously trying to calm herself down. It's evident she's still crying, but she's able to talk. "Tyler broke into the apartment, he fuck, he trashed it. So much is gone, so much is broken. He broke the door off of the hinges."

I could hear my heart in my ears it was beating so hard.

"H-how do you know it was him?" There's no way, right?

"I s-saw him driving away, he made eye contact with me. Then when I went inside... he left a note."

Fuck.

This isn't good.

And it's all my fault. "I'm so sorry, I never thought he'd do this. I didn't know he had it in him. I-I didn't know he knew where I lived."

"I'm not mad at you, Jo. I-I'm just scared to stay here. The cops just left, they got the door back on, but I don't feel safe."

What do I do?
