{ jonesy }Of course, London decided to be hot today.
According to Ruthie, it had been pretty rainy the past few days and the temperature hadn't been too high. But that wasn't the case today. No, on the day we were moving out of our apartment, our lovely city decided that high temperatures were just what we needed.
I groaned, shoving my flyaways out of my face and dramatically leaning against the side of the moving truck that Lando demanded he rented for us. I could hear him laughing as he carried the last of our boxes from inside.
"Tired, Jo?" He chuckled, putting the box in the truck and closing it.
Ruthie had left about 10 minutes ago to take some stuff in her car, saying she'd rather not put some stuff in the truck. I don't blame her, all of my fragile belongings got packed in her car too. But her leaving left Lando and I alone and I'm not quite sure how to feel about it.
Sure, I stayed with Lando in Monaco alone, but I had also just found out about my apartment being broken into. My mind was preoccupied. Now? All I can do is think about all of the thoughts and feelings swirling inside my body at how this man makes me feel.
"Are you sure you're sure?" I ignored his question, asking one of my own.
He nodded, walking over to me and placing his hands on my hips. Holy shit. "Very sure."
I wanted to play cool, not let him know how he was messing with my head. So, I'm not sure why I thought my next move should be bringing my hands up to rest on his very toned chest. That just made things worse. "My Mum demanded I let her come see the place today... I hope that's okay. She wants to make sure it's safe since she's still a bit freaked since I told her about the break-in."
He shrugged, removing a hand from my hip to aid me in brushing the hair from my face. This hair tie is doing a really shit job today. "She's a Mum, it makes sense." How was he always so nonchalant about everything?
Lando patted my hip with the hand still resting there, gesturing toward the truck. "In you go." Right. He wanted me to drive over with him.
It didn't take long to get to Lando's... or I guess I could call it mine and Ruthie's now... I don't know. Anyway, the drive wasn't long and we almost immediately began unpacking when we got there. Once Ruthie had unpacked her car, she came to help Lando and me with the truck.
Thankfully, Ruthie remembered where she had packed her speaker and had music playing for us once we got there. We were all obnoxiously singing along as we walked through with boxes.
"I put your stuff in what I assume was Lando's room, I took the guest room." Ruthie clarified when she saw me holding a box labeled to go in my room.
We'd only been bringing in communal stuff so far, so I hadn't needed to know which room was mine. "That's the bigger one, are you sure you're fine with that?"
"Promise." She smiled, heading back toward the truck where Lando was. "Plus, I think it'd be weird for me to take his room considering the relationship you two have."
"What relationship, Ru?" She didn't answer. What the hell? "What relationship!" I yelled after her.
Except instead of Ruthie walking in, it was Lando. He raised an eyebrow, his arms occupied by a box.
"What relationship?"
I groaned, walking off in the direction I remember Lando's room being in. "Nothing!"
Upon entering the room, I realized just how big it was. And damn, I forgot how rich Lando was too. Must be nice to be able to afford something like this.
