I stared at him. At Ben. At Audrey who stood next to him. I tend to do this a lot, with jealousy in my heart. I fear for the time i get caught doing so.

Today, the Villain Kids, or VKs, arrive at Auradon Prep for the first time in forever, like never been done before. After Ben declared the VKs would be given a chance, everyone was filled with fear. I however, was right with Ben, as were my parents.

Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert had me in their kingdom of Corona 16 years ago give or take a few months. When the kingdoms came together as The United States of Auradon, each kingdom had a ruler, my mom became the queen of South Riding, stationed in Corona. Queen Belle and her husband had more power than the rest of the rulers, but were very kind and gentle with their ruling and took in the opinions of the people and their peers.

I feel it's time to introduce myself. My name is Ryder Fitzherbert. You know my parents and the horrible haircut my father gave my mother. I have my mother's blonde hair, and its healing abilities.

My mom and Queen Belle were very close friends due to the close proximity of our kingdoms. This made it easy for Ben and I to become very close friends as well. We grew up together, Audrey too. I never quite understood why Ben chose Audrey over me. Though, I suppose he never had a choice. Audrey claimed Ben as hers when we were very young, maybe five. After that my little crush was hidden and suppressed.

Enough with the info-dumping, you came here for a story.

The black stretch limo pulled up to the school. I walked forward to be with Ben and greet the VKs. I was abnormally excited to meet the new kids.

I had dreams of this moment. I had a dream of yellow and deep red moments. It wasn't defined or clear in any sense of the word. But I had a feeling it was for this moment. I didn't know how to explain it. The next night it was the same, instead it was of purple and black. The colors seemed to dance with one another, finding peace with each other. Finding comfort.

I hadn't told Ben about my dreams, in fear of judgement. I didn't think he'd understand. Ben is my best friend, don't let my roommate Tina know i said that. I know he wouldn't outcast me for the dream but i still had fear of being told it's nothing or that they were odd and weird dreams.

The five kids stepped out of the limousine, and i watched, waiting for the deep, dark red I'd seen in my dream.

Out stepped three possibilities. A long-haired and tan boy. Jafar's son, Jay. A blonde, freckled boy. Ciruela Di Vil's Carlos. And lastly, a curly brunette. He had dark eyes and a seriousness about him as he casually got out and leaned against the black vehicle. He was the son of Mother Gothel, Mattheo.

Jay was about as sly-looking as someone could be. He seemed sneaky and conniving in his red beanie. But he looked silly as him and Carlos had  fought over who got something not-so-complimentary, i couldn't tell you what it was, as their commotion blocked my view of the item. Nevertheless, they looked ridiculous fighting for it.

Carlos, who obviously enjoyed the chocolates in the limo, looked young. Far too young to be perceived as evil or villainous. They all looked too young to be seen awful enough to be outcasted from the rest of us.

And Mattheo had creases on his forehead like he was in a constant state of confusion or worry, and deep smile lines. You wouldn't expect such signs of aging from the maybe 16 year old. Despite the signs of aging he was extremely handsome.

And the beautiful two girls next to them. Maleficent's daughter and The Evil Queen's daughter. They were decked in purple and blue. Mal's color was much darker than my preferred purple and she had accents of green, while my attire had accents of blue. Evie's outfits screamed evil queen yet was so unique and perfect. I wished to have a fashion style so perfectly me as she did.

I zoned out slightly as Fairy Godmother went on about welcoming the VKs to Auradon Prep, only snapping out of it when i heard the words "Benny-Boo" AKA Audrey's horrid nickname for Ben. I cringed every time i heard it.

"Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow." Fairy Godmother told the VKs, stepping away to her other responsibilities and duties.

"And I'll be helping. Seems like she just forgot about me," I said with sarcasm in my voice. "I'm Princess Ryder, Queen Rapunzals daughter. But please, don't use my title. Just call me Ryder."

The marching band and loitering students left Ben, Audrey, and myself with the five new kids.

Ben went down the line of VKs greeting them as they each gave different reactions, stalling when he shook hands with Mal, Maleficent's daughter.

Ben went on and on about it being a momentous occasion and to that, Mal made a joke. "Little bit over the top?" Ben asked

"Little more than a little bit." Mal replied.

"So much for first impressions, Ben." I stepped up and rested a hand on his shoulder. Then of course, Audrey had to say something, I mean Ben's attention wasn't on her.

"Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter, aren't you?" she said, "Yeah, you know what, I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff." she lied straight through her teeth. She was offended when Ben told her Maleficent's daughter was coming to Auradon. You'd think she was the one raised by fairies. "Oh, my mom's Aurora."

"Sleeping Beauty," i rolled my eyes as Audrey introduced herself.

The resentment between Audrey and Mal was clear as day as they spoke to one another. With tension and hatred laced in their voices. More from Audrey than the supposed villains.

"Tour time?" i asked the group. "Please, be time for the tour,"

Ben nodded, much to my satisfaction, and began to spew out the most boring facts a person could ever hear. The only fun part about this tour was going to be when Carlos got scared of the changing statue and jumped into Mattheo's arms.  That part was funny.

"Does he shed much?" Mal asked while staring at the beast-form statue.

"Yeah, mom doesn't let him in the coach," Ben said.

"Actually during dinners, he isn't allowed on the coach, Ben's not totally joking." I teased the family friend.

I heard a light laugh from behind me, turning to find Mattheo slightly smiling at me.
