I woke up earlier than him today. I wanted to make breakfast for him as a thank-you gesture, and also because I felt bad for not remembering his name.

It had been almost a month since I came here.

I imagine living a life far away from everyone, alone in my own house, doing everything I love. I want to be selfish and think only about myself, but then I'm reminded of that night when Jade was mercilessly stabbed. I saw the light fade from her eyes as she took her last breath.

I went to the kitchen, I was trying to make an omelet, coffee for him, and tea for me. I looked at the jug of water, but it was empty. So i went outside to get water from the well. It was a five-minute walk from the home.

But the wizard,

I mean levi always warned me it was dangerous to go alone.

I decided I would go quickly and come back fast.

I went out holding empty bucket and headed to well. After filling my bucket I was about to return when someone grabbed me from behind covering my mouth.

"Finally got you," the guy holding me laughed

"Damn it," the other one muttered.

They were to men behind me.

"We caught her together, okay? We both get the prize," the second guy said.

Prize?

"Yeah, yeah, let's get going before he notices us," the first guy said.

Sensing the danger, I bit his hand and tried to run towards home.

One of them appeared in front of me, smirking.
Wizard

"You think you can escape from us?"

The other guy pulled my hand, and I fell to the ground, hitting my head.

"You, bitch" he groaned, looking at his hand where I had bitten him.

"Why does the master need you?"

Master?

The second guy pushed him back.

"Come on, let's not hurt her. The master needs her alive," he said, touching my face.

I slapped his hand.

"Quite feisty, huh?" he said, grabbing my hair and pulling it hard.

I groaned in pain.

"L-let go of me."

He moved his face closer to me, sniffing me like he was some kind of animal.

"I can smell it-your soul," he smirked.

"My soul?"

"Your soul is special. That's why the master needs you."

"Hey, give me something sharp," he asked the first guy.

The first guy picked a sharp-edged stone from the ground and handed it to him.

He took the stone and placed it against my wrist.

"Stop. What are you doing?"

"Calm down. I just want to check something."

He made a cut on my palm.

"Ugh," I winced as the blood started coming out of the cut. He brought my hand closer to his face and was about to lick it when a dark shadow enveloped him. He let go of my hand and started trembling.

Eventually he stopped moving and fell to the ground.

Levi was standing there with an intense expression on his face.

The first guy saw him and tried to run away.

Levi caught him and lifted him off the ground.

"Please, let go of me," he begged.

"How dare you touch her?" Levi asked angrily.

Suddenly, a knife appeared in Levi's hand, and he ended his life.

I sat there, witnessing it all.

I sat there, in shock, watching everything unfold.

Levi came to me, cupping my cheeks in his hands. Despite everything, I wasn't scared of him.

"Where are you hurt?" he asked gently.

"My hand," I whispered.

He took my hand and wrapped a piece of cloth around it. Then he picked me up and took me inside, to his room. He put me down and disappeared, only to reappear with stitching supplies and some herbs.

He sat beside me and started stitching my hand after giving me some herbs to chew on.

"They told me their master wants me because I have a special soul," I said.

He paused for a moment, then continued stitching.

"I need answers. Please," I pleaded.

He finished bandaging my hand. He stood up, told me to lie down, and covered me with a blanket. Then he sat beside me, holding my uninjured hand.

"I will explain everything. But for now, you need to rest."

Anger flared within me. I pushed against his chest with all my strength, but he didn't budge. He was too strong, and I was too weak.

"Get out!" I started hitting him on the chest.

"I thought I could trust you. I considered you a friend. But no, you are just a monster. Will you throw me away once you're done with me? Get what you want?" I shouted.

He grabbed both of my hands, stopping me.

"Sweetheart, calm down. You will be the one to get hurt. You can't hurt me. You are-"

"Weak," I cut him off

"No. You are injured."

"Leave."

He stood up and walked to the door. Before leaving, he turned around and said,

"I watched you from the day your parents died. I watch you every day. And you are the strongest person I know."
