The room fell silent after my declaration.
Then, he burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha, that was not what I was expecting. I really need to look inside your brain and see what exactly goes on in there." He laughed, clutching his stomach.
As annoying as he was, I needed his help. Whatever his hidden agenda, I had to push down my anger and wait for him to stop his ridiculous laughter.
"Okay, sorry, that was mean. you locked yourself in your room for a whole week over a death of a person who wasn't even your family and now, suddenly, you want to kill the Prince?" He stood up and walked towards me.
He wore a white button-up shirt with black pants, barefoot, without his usual black cloak. His broad shoulders blocked my view of anything else.He was too tall.
He bent down to meet my eye level, his intense stare making me shiver.
"I love that fury in your eyes, but it's not enough to stand against the Fae Prince. They are the strongest. No one can challenge them. They've ruled this state for hundreds of years. Do you think a human girl with no magic can kill him?"
"But you have magic. You are strong too. You are powerful," I said, staring back at him, showing I was serious.
"And more evil"
He straightened, his eyes darkening at my words.
"Do you want me to kill him?"
"No, I want to kill him myself."
"How?"
I didn't know.
"Fine, I'll create a situation where you can meet him. But killing him won't be easy. You need to severe his heart completely before it can heal. Can you do that?"
"I-I can."
"You can't, and don't fool yourself. Human strength alone won't be enough."
"Then tell me something. What should I do? How should I kill him? He kill her in front of me. She did nothing wrong. He hated me, but why did he hurt her?" I shouted, tears filling my eyes, and started hyperventilating.
He took my hand and placed it on his chest.
"Follow my breath and calm down."
I closed my eyes, focusing on the rise and fall of his chest, and managed to calm down.
"Give up the dream of confronting him."
"I won't," I said firmly.
"Fine. Then become like me. Embrace your inner devil. Give up your humanity. Become evil. Kill him."
I froze. I didn't know if I could do that. Killing a innocent to gain something. Changing into something I always despise.
"Think about it again. My offer still stands. You can go start a new life somewhere far away. Live happily."
Before he could end our conversation here, I spoke up, "What if I don't accept the deal? What if I don't give you my blood?"
He had protected me and brought me here because of my blood. One thing was certain: he could have forced me or taken my blood when I wasn't in my right mind, but he didn't. He needed me. I could use that against him.
He smirked. "You have no choice. You are in my house. You are in the city of the devil. You are my prisoner. I can force you."
"You won't force me. Not because you won't, but because you can't. You need me to willingly give you my blood."
His smirk disappeared, replaced by a look of pure malevolence.
"Smart, aren't you?"
"Help me then."
"Smart and stubborn. But I love that about you, sweetheart," he said, the playful smirk returning.
I had to look up to meet his eyes. I stepped forward, closing the distance between us.
"I will give you my blood willingly when you help me get rid of the Prince."
"And you will give me your blood willingly even if I don't help you with that stupid revenge of yours," he said.
A dark shadow enveloped him, and he vanished into thin air, leaving me alone in the room.
