Just a few minutes before, I was laughing about the movie Shai and I just watched. The movie was amazing. Neither of us saw what just happened coming. We went to the Smoothie shop, and bought two strawberry smoothies. We laugh and just enjoy each others company.
I cry, looking into the distance. How could this happen? Why me? The ambulance comes and I hold onto her cold body. The medics try to pull us apart, but I hold on. They place her onto a stretcher. I follow her into the ambulance. I continue crying and I quickly text our mom. My eyes were soaked with tears, and my body soaked with rain.
Rain, came within seconds of the accident. I dropped onto my knees, the second it happened. Shai was just trying to help, but the world was cruel. The kitten was saved, but Shai. Shai got the bad end of the deal.
A week passes. I never leave Shai's side. The doctor comes in, bad news. Shai's dying. She's only surviving off life support. I cry, scream. I hold her hand, and nod.
Shai is taken off life support. A car hit her, when she saved a kitten from the road. I grief, my sister. My twin. The one who helped me find my home. Gone.
