I go to the park, and sit for a while. I pull out my phone, and look up Shai's number. I call, and then ring. ring. ring.
"Hello?" Shai's voice is on the other end.
"Hey, uh, weird question I know, but where do you live?" I ask, nervous as hell.
"Uh, 150th Emerson Rd. Why?" Shai asks, a curious tone.
"Oh, uh, I was wondering if I could come over for a bit, maybe?" I ask, even more nervous.
"Uh, sure," Shai agrees.
"Okay, see you soon," I hang up.
I start walking to 150th Emerson Rd, and realize she doesn't live too far from me. I drag my bag on it's wheels and finally feel right. I walk and walk, and finally find myself at 150th Emerson Rd. I go up to the door, and knock.
"Hey, quick, come in," Shai grabs my hand and rushes me down the stairs.
"Okay," I allow her to drag me along.
"So, why are you here?" Shai looks at me as we get down to her room.
Shai's room is covered in blue, and is so pretty. I sit on her blue bed, and think about how to respond. I debate on telling the truth or lying. I decide that being honest with my twin, is the best.
"I just had to get out of that house. My parents - er - foster parents, they have been driving me crazy lately," I sigh.
"Well, you can stay here for as long as you like, but we have school tomorrow," Shai warns, then pulls out a bed from under hers, "Here, you can sleep here."
"Thank you so much," I tell her, then go in for a hug.
Shai hugs back, and we release. I feel at peace, then I set my stuff down next to her dresser. Her room is spacious, and I figure, that it'll be okay. I ask where the bathroom is, and go get changed into pajamas. I return, and lay down on the bed.
"Thanks again, sis," I can't thank her enough.
"No problem, I'd do anything for you," She yawns, "Goodnight."
Shai stands, and turns off the light. I close my eyes, and try to plan out the next few weeks.
Maybe it wont be so bad after all.
