Chapter 33. Betrayal.

Jimin had visited the clubs countless times, always finding comfort in the private corners with his friends. They'd chill, dance, drink, and eat in secluded cabins, away from the prying eyes of strangers. But tonight was different. The noise seemed more unbearable than ever. He needs to stay on the dance floor, he had to move to the rhythm, even though his bodyguards ensuring no unwanted person came too close. However despite their protection, everyone could see him dancing, meanwhile he was trying to look alluring, as required by his character in the play he was performing.

However, it wasn't the eyes on him or the thumping music that truly bothered Jimin tonight. It was the imaginary images of Jungkook, his Jungkook, taking vows in front of the lord, holding the hands of someone else. They would kiss to seal their sacred relationship in front of God, followed by a holy night where they would consummate their marriage. And here was Jimin, dressed just the way his life is – a sin, a dirty secret hidden from the public but devoured by hungry gazes.

As Jimin stepped into the club, a single tear rolled down his soft cheek. The club was a cacophony of colorful lights, blasting music, and people dancing wildly, intoxicated by various substances. They ground against each other, laughed manically, and moved their heads as if they had just escaped from a mental asylum. Jimin's eyes narrowed, and he clenched his jaw, knowing his life was already a chaotic mess.

He raised his hand and, with a flick of his index finger, wiped away the tear. Determined, he walked through the chaotic crowd towards the dance floor where Jin was. The lights flashed around him, casting shadows on his face, highlighting his inner turmoil. The bass of the music pounded in his chest, each beat echoing the ache in his heart.

Jimin tried to immerse himself in the music, swaying his hips and moving his body to the beat. But his mind was elsewhere. He could still see Jungkook’s smiling face, Jimin imagines that the alpha's eyes would have surely crinkled with joy when he made his vows. The thought of Jungkook’s tender kiss with someone else burned in his mind, making it hard to breathe.

Every laugh, every cheer from the club felt like a mockery. His friends danced around him, lost in their own worlds of pleasure and escape. Jimin tried to smile, to lose himself in the moment, but the pain was too sharp, too real. The colorful lights felt like they were mocking him, highlighting the stark contrast between his outward appearance and the turmoil inside.

He spotted Jin across the room, the omega waved lazily at the beta, in the sea of chaos. Jin waved back at him and signaled, Jimin to come to him. Jimin pushed his way through the throng of dancers, his movements mechanical, his mind was filled with imaginary images of the scene of Jungkook’s vows over and over again.

As he reached near the beta, Jimin forced a smile, trying to mask his pain. Jin looked at him, concern evident in his eyes. Jimin’s heart ached, but he swallowed the pain, determined not to let it show. He was here, he was present, and for now, that had to be enough.

Jin raised his thumb and, shouting over the deafening music, asked, "Are you okay, Jimin? You look so pale!" His face was etched with concern, but Jimin just nodded, trying to reassure him. "I'm perfectly fine, hyung. Don't worry," Jimin replied, forcing a small giggle to hide the pain gnawing at his heart. "Just let me know what I need to do, and I'll handle it."

Jin’s worried eyes narrowed, clearly suspicious of Jimin's forced cheerfulness. But the giggle and smile seemed to ease his concerns a bit. "Okay, if you say so," Jin sighed, glancing around the club before continuing. "You just need to look wild and act like you're having the time of your life. It should seem like you're a really bad person, but don’t do anything that could harm your image. Just show that you're enjoying this place to the fullest, like you don’t take life seriously at all."
