Vincenzo notices.
There's a reason for why he's given a nickname in the mafia, after all and that too Gatto Sazio.
His partner Hong Cha Young is one of a kind and he is all aware of how she's trying to unleash the devil that she knows, exists.
She is trying to provoke him and make the devil in him snap, and she's putting quite an effort to do so.
First, it's the increased bantering and flirting. This is something that is always making the room quite heated and Mr. Nam clears his throat wide.
Not that it stops her (or him), in that case.
However, she always has the ability to edge him out whether it's for answers or confessions.
And all of that comes to a full stop, because Vincenzo is a gentleman and has the patience of a saint-if not it's actions.
Next comes her past acquaintances suddenly showing up.
Like the hot-shot lawyer who helped her in some case in the past, who has the audacity to start hitting on her the minute he lays his eyes on her.
The guy at the bar-who from his looks, Vincenzo can deduce earns a living from his atrocious flirting and seduction skills.
And many more encounters like these.
Now Vincenzo is a jealous man, he admits.
And one of the many things, he and his lovely partner have in common is that they are never good at sharing what they claim as their own.
That includes people, possessions and whatever strikes them fancy.
For Vincenzo, well, he's never been good at sharing since he was a child.
And lastly are the purely accidental and subtle physical touches.
Vincenzo knows Hong Cha Young doesn't care about his personal space and though he does makes it visible that he is conscious about it but that only makes the wily woman push his buttons with great passion and force like that one naughty kid in the elevator.
But the thing is these touches aren't like the ones he gives her.
Like a pat on her shoulder, or an arm on her shoulder or back while they both walk away-as support.
No, absolutely not.
They are feather-light touches with deliberate and obvious intentions that edge his sanity on the brink of completely losing it.
This goes on for weeks, she's testing his limits and toying with it.
And Vincenzo knows this is going to go on like this even if he doesn't do anything about it.
So, as he watches his partner put on that red lipstick that makes her lips all inviting and his to devour, he thinks
'Two can play this game, byeonhosanim.'
So, he plays like the Gatto Sazio in him does.
He notices how the barista in the cafe they usually go eyes him every single time they come and order and this time instead of ignoring he indulges her with smiles and attention and sees how she preens and blushes under his gaze while preparing their order.
However, the woman beside him is shooting daggers at her which makes the woman avert her gaze and go on for her work.
They both are fairly attractive and when together are like fire and gasoline.
In the end, he doesn't have to do almost anything because destiny has the perfect timing and fate's funny.
It's night and they're in the convenience store to buy a few snacks that'll accompany them in their makgeolli session.
