After Sarang discovered that she would be neighbors with Sunghoon, she was thrilled. The neighborhood was lovely, and they decided to go to the academy together, which was conveniently close to both their homes. Sarang had already informed her parents about her new academy friend living nearby, so they permitted her to go with him.

One weekday morning, as planned, Sunghoon waited for Sarang just across the street. They walked to the academy together, chatting and laughing.

Another month passed, and it was almost time for school to start. By now, Sarang had acquired all the necessary skills for figure skating. Though not perfect, she was much better than the other beginners. She had already told Sunghoon about the school she would attend, which coincidentally was the same as his. They found it amusing how inseparable they were becoming in every aspect.

The day before the new school year, Sarang was excited to start at her new school and meet the students. She wasn't worried about making friends anymore because she had Sunghoon, who reassured her he would be there for her.

Around the time the sun set, Sarang went to their usual hangout spot-a small rectangular stone bench near the park, a bit secluded for quiet conversations. They sat there, talking about their future plans, despite being just nine years old, sharing their dreams.

"One day, I want to compete in national championships," Sarang said.

Sunghoon nodded. "Me too. Imagine us both winning gold medals!"

They laughed, the idea thrilling them. Their bond deepened with every shared secret, dream, and moment of laughter.

Sunghoon thought for a moment. "I want to be a famous figure skater. I want to travel the world and perform in front of huge crowds."

"Wow, that sounds incredible," Sarang said. "I believe you can do it. You're already so good at skating."

Sunghoon grinned. "Thanks, Sarang. Maybe one day, I'll be on TV, and you can watch my performances."

"I'll be your biggest fan," Sarang said, giggling.

They continued to share their dreams, their bond growing stronger with every word. Sunghoon suddenly had an idea. "What if we make a promise?"

"A promise?" Sarang tilted her head.

"Yeah, let's promise that no matter what happens, we'll always support each other's dreams, and will always be each others best friend" Sunghoon said, holding out his pinky finger.

Sarang linked her pinky finger with his. "It's a promise."

They both felt a sense of determination and comfort in their promise, knowing that they would always have each other's backs. The future seemed bright and full of endless possibilities as they sat together, dreaming under the slowly darkening sky.

The first day of the new school year arrived. Sarang loved the school. She met new students in her class, though she wasn't in the same class as Sunghoon, they met during lunch hours at the cafeteria, walked to school together, and returned home together, becoming even closer friends.

As always Sarang excelled academically and often helped Sunghoon study. They even studied together at there spots or at each others house.

Unlike her previous summer classes, Sarang continued figure skating on weekends. Her parents were initially against it but allowed her to continue after realizing the value of extracurricular activities.

She basically did everything with Sunghoon-went to school together, ate lunch together, studied together, defended each other from bullies, and practiced figure skating together. They celebrated each other's birthdays and always hung out at their spot which became a very special place to them.

It even started to have a dent in the sitting bench because of how long they sat and talked.

Their families became closer as the years passed by.

Years flew by, and they remained inseparable. Sarang became an expert in figure skating, often competing with Sunghoon for fun. Both became figure skating champions at their school.
