It was the last year of middle school for both Sarang and Sunghoon. They both turned 14, facing the future with the strength of their unbreakable bond. They had matured and grown up beautifully. If Sarang was called beautiful before, now she was even more radiant with her cute and feminine features and personality. And Sunghoon, he was as handsome as ever.

It was a random school morning for Sarang, and she wasn't feeling well. She had a stomach ache but dismissed it, thinking it was just something she ate the night before. With a moody, bored expression, she left her house and met her best friend Sunghoon waiting for her across the street, as he always did. She gave him a small smile in greeting.

Sunghoon grinned cheekily at her, quickly trying to tackle her with a friendly hug. But to his surprise, she didn't meet his energy today. She just hissed and shooed him away, which took him aback. He stared at her, thinking she might be mad at her parents or something.

"Good morning to you too, Sarang. What's up?" he asked.

She didn't answer, just continued walking. He thought she was having a bad morning and let her be. Once they arrived at school, she waved him off and went to her class. He was confused about why she was acting unlike herself today but shrugged it off and walked to his class.

At break time, Sarang still wasn't feeling good. Her stomach felt weird since the morning, so she decided to just lay down on her desk, clutching her stomach. Her desk mate, Kang TaeHyun, teased her, saying, "The great Kim Sarang got sick?"

She just glared at him, ignoring his teasing. TaeHyun was a sweet boy she had known since 5th grade, and it was just friendly teasing because Sarang was always so perfect. While she was lying there in pain, someone lightly tapped her shoulder. She peeked to see who it was and saw Sunghoon, worriedly looking at her.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked, sitting in the front desk.

She groaned in pain, which worried Sunghoon even more. He decided to take her to the nurse's office. She argued at first but eventually agreed. As she stood up, Sunghoon noticed a blood stain on her skirt. His eyes widened in realization. In a matter of seconds, he quickly took off his jacket and wrapped it around her waist.

Sarang looked at him, confused. "What are you doing?" she asked.

Sunghoon smiled nervously. "Just... let's get you to the nurse."

He led her outside the classroom, but before they reached the nurse's office, Sarang stopped in the hallway, where there were no students around.

"Why did you take off your jacket and wrap it around me?" she asked, frowning.

Sunghoon rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words. "Well, um... you... uh, you might have started your period."

Sarang's eyes widened in shock. She quickly clenched his jacket around her waist even tighter and started running towards the nurse's office by herself. Sunghoon tried to call out to her, but she had already run away. He followed her but decided not to enter the nurse's office, thinking it might make her uncomfortable. He went back to class, planning to check on her at lunchtime.

Meanwhile, Sarang was shaking when she entered the nurse's office, tears streaming down her face. The school nurse approached her worriedly.

"What's wrong, Sarang?" the nurse asked gently.

"I-I think I started my period," Sarang sobbed.

The nurse gave her a sweet smile, understanding the situation. She hugged Sarang, trying to calm her down.

"It's okay, Sarang. It's normal. It happens to every woman around your age," the nurse reassured her.

Sarang knew about periods from class, but it still felt strange and new to her. She felt embarrassed thinking about her skirt being dirtied and her best friend seeing it. After a while, the nurse asked if she wanted to stay at school, as there were spare uniform skirts, or if she wanted to go home. Since Sarang wasn't feeling well and felt embarrassed, she decided to go home.

The nurse called her mother, who immediately picked her up. Her mom was happy that her daughter had become a woman and gave her encouraging words. Sarang, still crying and pouting, felt embarrassed that Sunghoon had seen it. She went home, bathed, and buried herself under her blanket. Her stomach wouldn't stop cramping, despite her mom giving her painkillers.

Mean while, Sunghoon waited for Sarang at lunchtime, but she didn't show up. He went to the nurse's office and was told that she had gone home because she wasn't feeling well. He felt bad for his best friend and decided to visit her after school.

Right after school, Sunghoon immediately went to the grocery store to buy Sarang some snacks and chocolates. He then went to her house without even changing out of his uniform.

He knocked on the door, and Sarang's mom opened it, smiling when she saw him.

"Sunghoon, Come in," she said, engulfing him in a hug.

"Thank you, but I'd just like to see Sarang," he replied.

"Oh honey, She just fell asleep. It's so sweet of you to visit" her mom said with a sad smile.

Sunghoon smiled and handed her the snacks. "Please give her this when she wakes up and tell her I hope she feels better soon. I'll come by tomorrow."

"Okay you can leave them, I'll give them to her when she wakes up." She replied

Her mom praised him for his thoughtfulness and bid him goodbye. Sunghoon then went back home.

When Sarang woke up later, her mom had prepared hot soup for her.

She told Sarang how Sunghoon had visited earlier after school, still in his uniform, and brought her snacks. He had gone back because she was asleep.

Her mom smiled, "You have a very thoughtful friend, Sarang." Then she gave her the snacks he brought her.

She suddenly remembered his Jacket which she brought home. Like she just read her mind her mom spoke "I washed and dried his jacket for you to give back to him tomorrow." Sarang just smiled at her mom, thanking her.

Sarang felt better after her nap, and the thought of Sunghoon caring so much for her that day made her smile. She was proud to have a friend like him.

And she suddenly asked her mom "Mom, Sunghoon really is the best, isn't he?" Sarang said, sipping her soup.

Her mom nodded. "He is. You're lucky to have such a good friend. Now, get some rest, and you can thank him properly tomorrow."

Sarang smiled, feeling grateful for her best friend's kindness and support. She knew that no matter what, Sunghoon would always be there for her.
