Chapter 3: The Cook

"I am getting hungry. What do you want to eat?" Jin asked Yoongi as he check on his watch. He gave Yoongi 3/4 of his sandwich and tried to eat it earlier. It's not that he does not like it, but the only breakfast he can take is coffee. The sandwich tastes good, though.

"Daddy said he will cook. He said you're a visitor and we should serve you." Yoongi said.

"Oh. I---w-well, I actually know how to cook my own food. I can also share my food to you." Jin said as he flickered Yoongi's nose.

"You can? Will you also be sharing to daddy?" Yoongi asked with wide eyes, as if what he is hearing is impossible.

"Sure. We can do that. Your daddy can rest then after he eats with us."

Yoongi then frowned.

"Why?"

"Daddy don't rest. He's always tired." Yoongi said.

Jin felt how hardworking Jungkook may be to ensure that he can give Yoongi whatever he needs. Based on Yoongi's story, Jungkook is a single dad and him and Jimin were bestfriends. Probably something that he can ask Jimin later.

"Then maybe we can let him rest later. What do you think?" Jin asked.

Yoongi nodded. "I like Daddy to rest. Do you want him to rest, too, Jinnie?"

Jin nodded at him.

"Let's cuddle with daddy while he rest. We do that all the time and now we have you to cuddle with us." He said.

Jin blushed with what Yoongi said, suddenly imagining how it feels to be resting on those hard muscles of Jungkook's arms.

"Jinnie?"

His trance was disturbed by Yoongi who took his attention. He suddenly remembered he is in front of a child. Jungkook's child to be exact.

"Oh, y-yeah. L-let's go cook?" Jin said.

He checked the kitchen last night and realized there was a lot of choices of food in the fridge. Fresh meat and fresh vegetables. He heard from Jimin that he gives budget to stock food in the fridge and also for the caretaker to cook his own food.

Jin did not know that Jimin is also thinking about the baby of Jungkook. He really need to cactch up with his friend as soon as he gets the time.

"I will cook for the three of us while you sit and watch me, okay? If you'll be a good boy I will bake cupcakes for you." Jin said.

"Capake? W-what's that, Jinnie?" Yoongi asked.

Jin should have realized that the boy never tried one considering their status.

"It's called cup-cake." Jin said emphasizing the word.

"Cup--cake... capake!" Yoongi shouted.

Jin chuckled at his cuteness.

"I will make you cupcakes later, little man. It's very sweet like candy but I will make a healthier one for you and your daddy."

"Okay, Jinnie. I wait here." Yoongi said pointing at the chair trying to sit again on top of it.

Jin carried him.

"Thank you, Jinnie." Yoongi said as he settled down.

"You're welcome, little man." Jin said and smiled at him.

Jin is not the best at cooking, but he can cook somehow. This is what he thought as he looked at his simple masterpiece. He cooked japchae and bulgogi. He is not sure if Yoongi can eat spicy so he opted to cook simple meal that won't be too spicy for the child.

He made sure to make it presentable so that Yoongi will enjoy the food and probably Jungkook will also see it appetizing.

He then looked at the cupcakes he was baking and checked his alarm to know if they're good.

"Okay, just 3 more minutes." He said looking at the small alarm clock. "They look nice." He continued looking at the cupcakes in the oven.

Just as the bell of the alarm rang, he also heard Jungkook.

"Yoongi! Daddy's here." He said.

He saw Yoongi from the living room, smiling, as he hurried towards the voice.

He took out all the cupcakes he baked and put them on top of the kitchen counter to let them cool.

"Oh! They look delicious." He said as he tried putting them one by one in a plate to cool down faster. He then went back at the japchae and bulgogi he made to check if everything is good for serving.

"It smells nice." A voice suddenly said.

Jin was obviously surprised because his shoulders suddenly went up a little high.

"Sorry, I did not mean to scare you." Jungkook said as he went near Jin who dropped the spoon that he was holding.

"It's okay. I did not know that me and Yoongi already have company." Jin said as he turned and smiled at Jungkook, which he should not have done because the sweaty man with an obvious tan from under the sun is only wearing a sando and worned out jeans.

Jin felt his world being so tiny that he feels suffocated, not knowing how to breathe anymore upon seeing Jungkook's body.

"A-are you okay, Mr. Kim?"

Jin remembered that he is mr. Kim.

"Oh, yes, Jungkook. And you can call me Jin, Jinnie or Seokjin. Mr. Kim is too formal." Jin said.

"Oh, okay, Mr. K---I mean, Jin." Jungkook said. "You cooked a lot." He said looking at the food behind Jin.

"Ah, y-yeah. Yoongi said you always cook for him while you go on lunch during your work. I thought that maybe I can do that while I'm here since I don't have anything to do yet and I usually cook at home as well for my hus---ex-husband." He said, quickly correcting himself when he almost called Mingyu his husband.

"Oh, okay. But I can still go home to cook. It's part of my responsibility, Mr..-- Jin." Jungkook said.

"If you can cook first than me, then why not." Jin said with a shrug as if challenging Jungkook.

Jungkook knows he can't win though because he has work to do and the man is just here. He rubbed his nape as it felt awkward for him in letting Jin cook when Jimin specifically asked him to take care of his friend.

"At least let me help you." Jungkook offered.

"Okay. Why don't you help me bringing all of these to the dining table? We can start eating and I'll serve later the cupcakes I made." Jin said.

"You made cupcakes?" Jungkook asked with wider eyes which Jin found so adorable.

"Yes, Jungkook. I promised Yoongi earlier about it." Jin said proudly as they walked towards the dining table.

"Oh. H-he never ate something like t-that b-before." Jungkook said shyly.

"I figured." Jin said. "But don't worry, I can make dessert for the both of you daily." Jin said. "I like cooking and baking." He said with a smile which was immediately returned by Jungkook as he felt comforted by Jin's words.
