Chapter 18: The Birthday

"Shouldn't I be included in this meeting?" Jin said as soon as the door opened for him.

Everyone in the room gasped upon seeing him. Mingyu in particular had a surprised look on his face. The man had been missing for quite some time and he managed to be here at this time which was the most important time for Jin.

"Why are you here?" Mingyu asked.

"As far as I remember, I still have shares to company and last time I checked I actually have the highest share so far. I don't even know why there is a need for this meeting when I never called for it." Jin said.

"You don't have the rights to---"

Jin put his finger on his own mouth, silencing Mingyu. "Ssshh, my dear ex-husband, shut your mouth before you commit another mistake. Because no matter how smart you are, I can still outsmart you." He said as Namjoon gave everyone in the room each of the folders that Jin prepared for the meeting.

Upon reading its contents, Mingyu angrily walked forward to Jin but Namjoon was quick in stopping him. Turned out, Jin only signed the agreement that Mingyu will manage the company as long as they remained married and any shares they will cut in half for anything that he will gain during their marriage. Unknown to them, Jin's father gave him more shares as the time goes by, when he was still in College. Leaving him still as the highest share holder in the company.

Of course, Jin did not know about it until he talked to his father and came clean to him, 1 week ago. That's also the time when he told him about Jungkook.

Mingyu stormed out of the room angrily.

Jin and Namjoon smiled at their success even when Jin thinks it's not actually a success because of the pain he is currently feeling inside, leaving Jungkook and Yoongi, without even saying goodbye.

It was Hobi's birthday and everyone were celebrating at his place. Jimin also came, as he never misses anyone's birthday.

Despite of Jin being gone for 2 weeks now, Yoongi still looks for him and Jungkook regrets every single day that he ignored the man. He tried asking Jimin about Jin but seemed like Jin also warned Jimin not to tell Jungkook anything because his friend was also hesitant to say anything about Jin.

After a week of trying, he decided to temporary let it go but he still wanted to try after. For now, he realizes that Jin might also need time.

"Hey, how are you and Yoongi? You seemed extra low and Yoongi also is just at the corner. Everything's fine?" Jimin asked Jungkook as he went to him drinking the usual beer they get.

"Yeah. Yoongi's missing Jin a lot." Jungkook said.

"Oh, I see. How about you?" Jimin asked.

Jungkook looked at him. Not sure what to answer.

"Do you miss him, too?" Jimin asked, clarifying his questions.

Jungkook drank the rest of the his bottle's contents.

"Can I actually miss him?" Jungkook asked Jimin.

"What do you mean by that?" Jimin, knowing the story on Jin's side wanted to also know and understand Jungkook's side of the story. He knew that Jin is bent over heels in love with Jungkook but the way he heard it, Jungkook does not have feelings for Jin. This is something not new for Jungkook, though. It was the same with Soongi.

Jungkook does not how to entertain his own feelings and with Yoongi around, he is also unable to convey them seeing himself as a baggage with a child.

"I did him wrong. He tried to talk to me but I closed my doors. He saw me with Jennie."

Jimin rolled his eyes upon hearing the name. Of course Jin told him about her but eversince the girl is so pushy even when Jungkook ignored him multiple times. Only because Jungkook allowed to be tempted one night, does not mean he really wanted the girl.

"Do you like him?" Jimin asked.

Jungkook looked at him and chuckle.

"As if I can reach him. We have different priorities in life. He is very rich and you know that, but look at me."

"When did status even became a reason not to like someone? Jin is just a person like everyone of us. How is he different?" Jimin asked which made Jungkook think.

"I don't even know if he would like me. I mean.. look at me, Jimin, I can't even afford a car. I can't afford a luxurious home. I am only a farmer with a child." Jungkook said.

Jimin looked at him. "Did Jin even asked you for a luxurious breakfast? A luxurious car? Did he even asked for a luxurious bed while you guys were having sex?" Jimin asked which made Jungkook cough.

His eyes widened at what Jimin said.

"And yes, mister, I know how you had sex with my bestfriend in that small house of yours. Now, you are even questioning if he likes you when you even let him stay in your house for how many nights and did you even hear him complain?" Jimin asked.

Jungkook looked at him but instead of answering, he bit his lip and shook his head.

"Exactly my point. You are thinking too much about him not able to accept you when it's actually you who can't accept yourself." Jimin said. "Yoongi and your past are not your baggage. Your thoughts about yourself are your baggage.

When you opened things up with Jin, did he treat you differently?"

Jungkook shook his head again.

"Did he treat Yoongi differently?"

Another shake of his head of course.

"Jin must look so intimidating at first, all handsome and branded clothes. However, the only reason why the company is important for him is because of all the charities he is working with. He does not care about losing it, as long as he'll lose it with all the usual support he'll have in the charities. And of course, his father built that company.

When Mingyu called him few weeks ago, the man knew that he will lost to Jin. Jin is very smart and can work in silence, without anyone noticing how he works.

When he knew about the divorce, he already planned things inside his head. He knew what was going to happen, he just needed to remain hidden while he planned everything. That is why he went here.

He called me right away upon seeing the call from Mingyu---"

"He called you? Not Mingyu?" Jungkook asked.

"Of course not Mingyu! Why would he call that bastard? Jin only talks to him in court. He lost his love for that man the day he mistreated him. Jin knows his value and the man never made him feel that." Jimin said.

"Oh, Jimin, I made a big mistake." Jungkook said.

"Just now that you realized?" Jimin asked.

"Argh! Don't put more salt in the wound!"

"You deserve it though. Jin had been going through a lot while trying to move on from you while in Seoul." Jimin said before drinking his own bottle of beer.

Jungkook just sighed. "I lost him, didn't I? He was able to move on?"

"It depends on your next move." Jimin said which left Jungkook thinking for his next move.
