"so you're basically telling me that all this time i have known you, you've actually been living two hours away???" satoru asked in disbelief while following you with his large travel bag on his back. "that is crazy. so that means that back then you had to travel to another fucking city every time we wanted to hang out casually? no wonder you were always arriving late. now that i think about it, the first time we ever saw each other was in tokyo! what were you doing there for no reason if you live all the way over here!"
you really didn't understand why he was making such a big fuss. "it's not a big deal. i'm just more of a city girl, what can i say. besides, i used to have a chauffeur then, so the back and forth wasn't that much of a problem." you reply as you look around your hometown, bored. i really didn't miss being here.
still. "why did we have to take the train if you can arrange a chauffeur for us?" satoru asked, grumpy. he was still tired from having to get up early for your little trip. "...and i also thought that you really didn't want to come here. why all this unnecessary arguing if you decide to show up anyway..."
you didn't pay much attention to his whining since he was doing you a favor by being here in the first place. you certainly wouldn't have been able to come here all by yourself. if you were being a little honest, you would have preferred to take shoko with you or even suguru, but they were simple people with simple families. they would never understand the clan lifestyle, which you envied.
"trust me, i never decide to come here, and i certainly don't want to. i also want to make it clear that every second i spend arguing with my brothers is a second well spent in my book." you answered him while ignoring glances and polite bows from other residents towards you. satoru only looked on in slight astonishment. you continued. "it's just that yoshi told me that this stupid cousin of mine wants to give one of sukuna's fingers to my brother as a wedding gift. mind you, the finger i got after i almost died fighting that ugly fucking curse that ate it."
satoru looked at you amazed. so she fought a special grade curse not once, but twice and also won on top of that. that's actually pretty cool. "so she stole it from you or what?"
you grunted. "yeah. i had it hidden in a safe place, or at least i thought i did. should have given it to yaga from the start, man." you imagined a timelime where you were smart enough to do that and therefore didn't have to come here to correct your mistake. instead, you would all celebrate shoko's birthday together and have fun. she said that it's okay that i missed her special day but i still feel bad that i can't be there. i hope she likes the present i got for her.
unfortunately, this engagement was the perfect opportunity for this operation since the wedding will be much bigger, which will only make it more stressful for you. apart from the fact that you really didn't want to go to the wedding and needed the finger now.
"...and this yoshi person is who?"
you stopped and looked at him, annoyed. "my brother? oh my god, satoru, can you please keep up."
