"boo!" you jumped out of your hiding spot and used the element of surprise to your advantage to scare the person in front of you. well, at least you tried doing that. it didn't really work out since you had the bad luck that the person in front of you was geto suguru.
he looked at you with a puzzled expression on his face before finally asking you with a monotone expression. "what are you doing."
you let your arms fall back to your sides and rolled your eyes in annoyance. "i'm baking cookies. what does it look like i'm doing?" you asked him sarcastically. "it's helloween today, you know? this is what people do. scaring each other, watching scary movies, eating sweets, doing weird demonic rituals, and whatnot."
suguru's confusion only deepened. a few question marks popped up above his head, and he couldn't help but look around slightly worried. "...no. not really. i mean, unless you're five years old or crazy." he replied and finally turned his serious. "and please don't even try to perform any weird rituals. we want to minimize curses, not find new ways to create them." he added quickly, earning a big sigh from you. "you're annoying, and i'm going to satoru."
"last time i checked, he's the most annoying person we know, though."
"yeah, but i don't think that he's going to kill my vibe." you said honestly. "and you're killing my vibe right now, so..."
the boy shook his head with a smile. "all right, i get it. sorry about that." he apologized while following you. "i didn't know you were so enthusiastic about halloween." he said, wondering what the reason for that could be.
"well," you began. "my family never allowed me to celebrate it because they think it's too demonic, but - i don't even live with them anymore! so fuck them." you said, remembering the years where you could only imagine what a day like this would be like. it was a bit silly, but still a little childhood dream of yours. "i want to do everything normal people do today! that includes going to shibuya in a cool costume! everyone will be there today."
the boy next to you frowned a little at what he heard. "you do realize what shibuya is like during halloween, right? many glorify it way too much because it's actually just a bunch of drunk people in funny clothes." he tried to explain to you. his aim was to spare you the disappointment of seeing it with your own eyes, but he wasn't exactly the good guy by trying to burst your bubble.
you sighed as you stopped in front of satoru's room and turned to your friend with a serious tone. "okay suguru. maybe i haven't made myself clear just before." you began, already holding the door handle in your hand. "but i actually don't give a shit about your opinion, so please keep it to yourself. thanks!" you said in an annoyed, cheerful way before rushing into satoru's room without further ado.
you paused your greeting when you realized that the boy was still asleep. "come on, satoru! wake up, it's already 4 pm. how can you still be sleeping?" you asked as you leaned over his bed and held him by the shoulder. huh? his infinity isn't turned on. it usually is when he's sleeping though. you thought to yourself. i could kill him right now...is it crazy that that's my first thought?
