I was woken up by a loud banging noise. When i lift my head i see the floor, i groan as i get up from the kitchen floor and stumble my way through the mess to the front door. When i opened the door I saw Bobby standing there.
"Hey Cap." I mumble, i walk away from the door letting him in. "Sorry about the mess."
"Buck came to see me." He says. Buck.
"Oh." Is all i say
"Said he is going to Texas." Bobby says, he starts picking up trash and putting furniture back to how it's supposed to be.
"Probably to see Chris." I say
"No, said he's going to see an old friend." Bobby tells me. I don't know who an old friend would be, but i don't care. We aren't even together anymore.
"So you two broke up?" Bobby asks
"I didn't really have a say. He just ended things and walked out." I say taking a drink of a beer can on the floor. Bobby watches me and he snatches the beer can from me tossing it in the trash.
"You didn't chase after him?" He asks
"Pfft no. Why would I? He stopped loving me. He's in love with Tommy." I spill
"Tommy's dead." Bobby says
"I know." His phone rings, he looks at it then looks at my giving my a hand signal to stay put.

Thirty minutes later he walks back in the room with a defeated look on his face.
"Buck asked for a transfer." He says. My heart sunk in my chest but I tried not to show it.
"Where?" I ask
"The 126. In Austin Texas." Bobby says
"Why there?" I ask
"The old friend? Do you remember any of the firefighters from when you, Buck, and Hen went to Texas to help the wild fires?" Bobby reminds me.
"Um, yeah?" I say as i do remember a guy named Judd we got a long pretty well. Firefox, Buck was obsessed with her.
"Apparently Buck made good friends with Captain Strands son, Tk. That's why he went to Texas." Bobby says
I was putting the pieces together, Buck went to Texas to start a new life but still wanted to be a firefighter so he went to a house where he knew someone in better chance of landing at a good house.
"Please tell me you didn't approve it Cap."
"I did." He says. I run my hand through my hair, I'm never getting Buck back now.
"Why?" I ask
"Because sooner or later Buck will realize that his home isn't in Texas. It's here with you." Bobby says
"Now get showered and cleaned up, you have a shift." He pats my back and lets himself out.

At the shift everyone was causes with what they said around me and I could feel al the stares. It felt like there was a hole in the station like something, someone, was missing. And there was but only they will have to figure it out on their own. Any call we went on i was given the easy tasks which I wasn't very found of but I wasn't going to argue with Bobby.

At dinner sat an empty chair that no one would mention, a locker that never got used or turnouts that never left their spot by the trucks. My heart still ached for Bucks attention but as time went on i started to get used to the single life again.
"Hey Eddie." Hen says behind me in the locker room
"Hey Hen."
"How you doing?" She asks
"Better than ever." I shrug my shoulders. She purses her lips and raises her eyebrows at me.
"Really Hen I'm fine. He left me and is starting a new life in Texas so what?" I close my locker leaning against it
"It's not 'so what' Eddie. He is hurting and he hurt you. Go down there and bring him home." Hen says
"He doesn't want me!" I snap, Hen doesn't flinch she knew she was going to get this reaction out of me.
"You know when something tragic happens in Bucks life he blocks out everybody but the one person who somehow always manages to squeeze in there is you! And you let him go!" Hen says throwing her hands up in the air letting them fall to her side
"This time is different." I say
"How? Because he's your boyfriend?" Hen says
"Was" I corrected her
"You all were having a silent argument against each other then 'broke up' in the heat of the moment without talking about it." She says
"He's the one who wouldn't talk." I say
"He never talks when it's his business to talk about. You have to get in his head Eddie. Buck doesn't belong down there in Texas with the 126 he belongs here at the 118." Hen tells me
"I know. But he's just going to have to figure that out himself." I tell her
"He's right." Bobby says at the door way.
Hen looks behind her, we don't know how long he's been standing there listening to us go back and forth.
"You two go home." Bobby says
"Night Captain."
"Night Bobby."

Back at home i throw my bag down and grab a beer from the fridge, i sat on the couch and flipped through the Tv, i saw on the news where a car was on fire in a tree and the firefighters responding to it. Of course it was the 126, i saw Buck across the screen.
"Ugh." I say as i turned it off and got on my phone. That wasn't any better i still had his picture as my background. I quickly changed it to a picture of Chris. I threw my phone down at the end of the couch when i opened instagram and saw Buck and 'Firefox' on instagram. I can't escape him.

I grabbed another beer as i headed for my bedroom to go to sleep.
