Hey yall, Maar_niks here, first off: Thank you so much for reading my entire story!
This is the first piece of fiction I completed writing so I don't know if it turned out well or not. I don't know if it's normal for the author to yap a lot at the end of their book, but I'll go ahead and yap a healthy amount.
I had the idea for The Swap for a few years already and I even started a few attempts but I always ended halfway due to multiple reasons. A few months ago I decided to finally put my foot down and seriously finish this story so I could move onto other stories and such.
The main problem I ran into was that I was trying to stretch out the story too much in the middle with a bunch of body swap shenanigans. I tried really hard this time to make sure every chapter was important towards the plot somehow. I hope the pacing also benefitted form this decision, but I can't say for sure.
Lastly, I toyed around with having Allison and Zach not swap back at all, and having it end a lot darker, but a friend advised me against it and I'm glad I didn't since having this clear ending helped a lot with structuring the story and keeping me motivated.
