The class ended, me, Anaya and Shrey walked out together. I walked towards my locker to keep my books in.
"Holy shit, is that sapphire?", Shrey shouted pointing towards my chain.
"Yes it is"
"Who gave you. Am not that rich enough to buy though, neither is Shrey. Did you break into a jewelry store while I was asleep", Anaya commented.
"Oh yeah, I drugged you and I escaped. Cops are still looking for me", I winked.
"Who gave it though? Is it your mother?", Anaya held the pendant in her hand.
"Ryan gave me", I admitted.
"Holy shit, that rich brat gave you that. Typical guys, showing off their richness to impress girls.", Anaya was very protective about me, and so was I. She told me multiple times to stay away from him, but how could I. It was genuine affection towards him.
"Stop it, I told him I don't like expensive gift. He got upset when I said that, so I decided to accept it."
"Dude, why can't you see it coming. Buying this isn't anything for him, it's just like gifting a girl handful of chocolates. Look I know your feelings towards him..."
"No, you don't. You can't talk about him that way. So what if he gave me this, atleast he took an effort to do this. I don't care unless and until he is being truthful and genuine to me.", I couldn't handle a single word against him. I know somewhere she was definitely right, but I can't wash away my feelings for him.
"Fine, I don't want you to spoil your mood. It's your birthday and lets have fun.", I chose to forget the negative things she said about him and gave her a hug.
"Firstly you guys have a cat fight over a guy and now you make it up.",
"That's what is called being best friends"
I opened my locker to keep my books in while, Anaya was right beside me doing god knows what in her locker. I found a letter, the paper used was red in color with a yellow rose. I thought it was Ryan who kept the letter in, but when I thought about it, why would he keep a yellow rose? The letter was beautifully decorated. I opened it, I saw a card in there. It said...
"Dear Isha, You look really pretty today. The yellow rose I have given, on the occasion of beginning of our friendship"
Who could this be? Do I know him/her? By the card, I was pretty evident it was given by a guy. I stood there thinking who could it be. I tried to recall who all I know in the school, because this couldn't be Shrey neither Anaya neither Ryan.
"Isha", I got back into reality when I heard Anaya call me.
"Yeah.."
"What's wrong", she looked at me hand. "What's this?"
"I have no idea, I just found it here and yeah there is a yellow rose along with the card"
We both were confused by looking at the card.
"Maybe it could be some random creep trying to get your attention", She was right. I didn't want to spoil my mood with this stupid prank or whatever this shit is. I picked the rose and the card, threw it in the bin and walked away after locking my locker.
Next three classes where hectic, I didn't even have a thought about the card and rose. The work itself kept me occupied.
Finally when all the classes for the day were over, I was heading outside, until my way was blocked by someone...
"Happy birthday Isha", I had never seen him before, but I was damn sure he studies here. He was a little taller than me, he got round specs. His dressing sense was good, but not so much attractive. I could smell alcohol from the distance between us. He wore loose tracks and a tshirt with a cardigan over. I took two steps back from avoiding him from coming closer to me.
"Thanks", I turned back and started walking wishing he wouldn't call me again, he didn't.
As I walked out, Anaya joined me. We both were walking, chit chatting. I told her about the weird guy, but she told me to ignore him. I heard a honk behind us.
"Need lift, I can't leave a hot girl walking on the street alone.", I turned my head to my right, it was Ryan in his car. I nodded. I didn't realize that I wasn't alone until I saw Anaya.
"Carry on guys, I'll meet you at the party"
"Wait, you can come in too.", Ryan said by opening the door right behind him.
"No, thanks. I don't need your help"
"Am not trying to help, just get in.. god damn it", Anaya frowned and walked towards the door.
"Just drop me by my house, I'll freshen up and meet you there", he nodded. After few minutes, we were at my house, I got down and saw Anaya getting down too.
"I could have dropped you", Ryan looked at Anaya.
"This is enough help I have got from you", he rolled his eyes and started the car.
"You know what...", she walked towards his car and he pulled down the window.
"Your an asshole", I wanted to laugh, and was annoyed at the same time. I heard him curse under his breath and he rolled up his window. He looked at me, shrugged and gave a smile.
"You shouldn't have said that", I looked at Anaya as we were getting into the house.
"He deserves it", I rolled my eyes.
"I'll go home and get dressed", her house was just a few blocks away. So I didn't force her to stay, as she got some personal stuff to be done.
I got into shower, the hot water hit my body. I didn't want to get out from the bathroom. Finally after enjoying under the shower for twenty minutes, I decided to get out and get dressed.
I chose to wear a dress which my mom got me for my birthday. It was a mini dress, above my knees. I had to wear high hells with them to carry myself. I curled my hair, put on light make up. I know my feet is gonna hurt today, but still I chose to wear wide fit heels. I wore the necklace which Ryan gave me, it perfectly went along with the dress.
My mother would drop me to the venue, she strictly told me not to consume alcohol, but I chose to have second thoughts about what she said. It's my eighteenth birthday, am allowed to have one drink right?
Soon my mom dropped me at the venue.
(Hey guys, thank you so the reads and support. I was planning on starting a second book. Please comment and let me know your POV.)
