What if Kai was the green ninja?

I stood before the golden weapons as Zane, Cole, and Jay did before me. The weapons hadn't reacted to any of them, meaning it was either me or some other ninja we never heard about. This was a different experience than anything I could have ever imagined. 

Being the green ninja has been my dream ever since we found the prophecy in Master Wu's bag. Maybe it was because I got to defeat the man who kidnapped my sister, or it was because I wanted to be the best ninja of them all. 

The weapons glowed around me, confirming my thoughts. I was the green ninja. I didn't know how to react other than shoot a smirk at Garmadon who stood behind his small son, Lloyd. I felt bad since I would be the one to make the boy parentless again, but it was for the greater good. 

The guys swarmed me, patting my back and congratulating me, none of it felt real though. It was as if I was having an out-of-body experience watching myself become the one person, I dreamed of being. I was going to be the green ninja. 

A sudden hug snapped me out of my trance. I look down in my arms to see my thirteen-year-old sister looking up at me with a large smile. "I knew it would be you." 

I smiled back down at her. 

"Who's ready to celebrate!" Cole said taking us all inside for a small party. 

It was fun. We laughed, we danced, and we drank some of Cole's (surprisingly) decent fruit punch. I saw Lloyd in the corner being comforted by Nya. Apparently Garmadon had left to go back to whatever evil he was planning. I felt bad for the kid, but it was weird having your destined rival in the same house as you, so I was glad he was gone. 

Training over the next few weeks were brutal, but I endured. As the green ninja I had to endure more than the others during training. I had finally gained access to my powers, and they were like swirling orbs of green light. Master Wu didn't know what my power was exactly, but Zane said it was some kind of energy, so we decided to call it energy. 

Of course, Garmadon had teamed up with the snakes after the destruction of the Great Devourer and had access to the golden weapons. He sent a bunch of different people at us, like pirates, evil ninja and a ninja eating dinosaur from over 1 million years ago.  We were turned into children because of that and were only saved when Lloyd used the tomorrow's tea to age us and the Grundel up. This resulted in him also turning into a teenager around 15 like us. 

I never really paid attention to Lloyd before then because he was either by himself or helping Nya with the ship, but after this incident he earned my respect. I Hung around him a couple times and got to known him a bit more. Turns out he lived with his mother until she had a historical breakthrough and became famous while Lloyd was neglected. One day she left and never came back, not before leaving Lloyd in a boarding school called Darkley's. He didn't tell me what they did in the school, but often paled when he said the name, so I decided not to push it. 

I had private, one on one sessions with Master Wu as he spoke about the prophecy with me over tea. He told me about his brother and how he became evil. Turns out it was Wu and the devourers' fault of Garmadon's evilness. The devourer bit Garmadon while Garmadon looked for Wu's katana over the fence. 

He also told me about when Garmadon was cursed to the underworld a few months before Lloyd's birth. That was also Wu's fault since the two brothers were fighting with the gold weapons when Wu struck Garmadon with lightning. 

I learned a lot about ancient history and the use of elemental powers from Wu, and I gained more knowledge on how to create battle plans and lead a team of ninja.
