Memory - Charles Leaves his Wallet

Charles "well you were working at a restaurant and later in the day I went there with some friends for dinner and you were our waitress"

You walk over to the table "hi I'm y/n and I'll be your waitress for tonig- you" you notice Charles.

He smiles at you "well hello again y/n"
Y/n "are you stalking me or something"
Charles "no how would I have known you work here"
Y/n "I'm going to get someone else to serve you." You get someone else to serve his table and avoid him the whole night.
Charles and his friends finish their meal and Charles decides to go up to the bar to pay the bill "can I pay the bill please?"

You look up at him "you got up just to have an excuse to talk to me didn't you"
Charles "maybe I did"
Y/n "ugh here's your bill stalker"
Charles "first I'm not a stalker and second maybe you should be flattered"
Y/n "I would be but I bet you do this to all the girls"
Charles "I promise I don't"
Y/n "well in my experience there are a lot of creepy guys in New York and so far you are giving me all the signs of one so goodbye"
Charles "you really don't hold back do you"
Y/n "if you don't leave now I will scream"
Charles "okay okay relax I'm going." You notice he leaves his wallet on the bar by accident as he leaves. You shout to him and try to catch him but he leaves without his wallet.

Y/n "you left your wallet on purpose didn't you"
Charles "maybe I did"
You smile "I think I'm glad you did"
Charles smiles "me too"

You go to your apartment that night with his wallet. You look through it to see if you can find his phone number to tell him you have his wallet. Eventually you find a card with his number on it. You phone him but he doesn't answer "ugh I hate this man." You throw the wallet to the side and go to bed.

The next morning you try phoning him again
Charles answers this time "hello who is this"
Y/n "it's y/n"
Charles "how did you get my phone number? Now who's the stalker"
Y/n "still you, you left your wallet on the bar last night dumba*s"
Charles laughs down the phone "and why are you the one phoning me"
Y/n "just meet me by the bench you know the one you waited on for me yesterday"
Charles "I knew you wanted to see me again"

Y/n "no I don't"
Charles "then why did you take my wallet home with you"
Y/n "do you want it back or not"
Charles "of course I do"
Y/n "see you in an hour then"

Y/n "your just as crazy as me" you nudge Charles.
Charles "shh don't tell anyone."
You look at him with love in your eyes as you begin to remember more and understand why you were marrying him "keep going"

You go outside an hour later and wait for Charles on the bench. Charles walks up behind you "don't you think it's a bit creepy to wait for someone on a bench"

You push the wallet into Charles chest "I took the liberty of tipping myself with a 50 for the inconvenience." You stand up and face him.
Charles "I guess that's fair"
Y/n "I thought so"
Charles "so I guess you don't want me to buy you dinner to say thank you"
Y/n "well if your offering I wouldn't say no to free food"

Y/n "I guess I was flattered by your relentlessness in the end"
Charles "yeah you were and you know I've never acted like that for anyone else but you bring out another side to me." You sit closer to Charles as he continues.

Y/n "so you will pick me up at 8 and take me somewhere fancy since I know you have a lot of money, good idea"

Charles looks in his wallet which has a lot of cash in it and shrugs his shoulders. You shake your head at him "why do you act like that's nothing it's nearly a thousand dollars you are just carrying around with you what if you get mugged"
Charles "I'll just have to hope I don't"

Y/n "it's New York take it from me hope gets you nowhere" you are walking up the stairs to your apartment and shut the door as you finish your sentence.
