Amnesia

Staying with Charles

You get to Charles apartment and look around. You see pictures of you both together all around the apartment. You stand looking at them all.

Charles "sorry I can move them if you don't want to see them"
Y/n defensively "no leave them"
Charles "okay what would you like to eat"
Y/n "I don't mind" you are to distracted by all the photos as it brings back some memories.

You pick up a picture of you both from when Charles proposed to you and smile. You turn around and see an empty photo frame with space for lots of pictures, "this was for our wedding photos wasn't it"
Charles comes through from the kitchen and looks at it "yeah it was, you were so excited to fill it"
You smile and look at it "we may still fill it one day" you mumble
Charles pretends to not hear you as he doesn't think you wanted him to hear you.

You look around and see a shelf with an award, some roled up posters and some dvds on it
You unrole one of the posters and see yourself on it.

Y/n "was I in all of these"
Charles "yeah I did say your acting career was going well you won that award as well" You unrole another poster and start to feel proud of yourself.

Charles "we can watch one if you like"
You role the poster back up "no let's just eat"
Charles "okay the pasta is almost ready"
You pour some water for you both and get some plates out without even thinking about where everything is. Charles chooses to not point out that you knew where everything was as you seem saddened by seeing all the remains of what feels like a different person to you.

Charles puts the plates down and sits across from you "are you okay?"
Y/n "yeah I didn't think it would be this hard to see all the pictures of us and where we lived together"
Charles "yeah I didn't want to move things you loved our apartment you always said it was our safe place away from the rest of the world"
You smile "it is decorated nicely"

Charles "yeah that was mostly you some me"
Y/n "well I have good taste"
Charles "you do especially in men"
You smile as this joke makes you feel more at ease "thank you for taking me here and making dinner"
Charles "of course I know it doesn't feel like it now but this is your home to and I want you to know you are always welcome"
Y/n "thank you, but can you take me back to Sebs I think I want to sleep there tonight now"
Charles "of course do you want to go now"
You nod feeling overwhelmed. Charles puts the dishes in the sink and grabs your bag as you go to the door. You pick up a picture "can I take this with me"

Charles "yeah of course you can take as many as you like"
Y/n "just this one is okay"
Charles drives you back to Sebs and you go up stairs to your room after a quick hello to Seb. Seb asks Charles what happened. Charles explains it was just to much to soon for you. You hold the picture close to your chest as you lay in bed and fall asleep and dream of that moment.
