"Aren't you going to ask who it is?"
Corrina's voice cut through the silence.
I focused on buttoning my shirt, deliberately avoiding her gaze.
"No."
A frustrated sigh exploded from Corrina.
She leapt from the bed, yanking a t-shirt over her head with exaggerated force, slamming drawers and stomping around the room.
"Jesus Christ!" I snarled, whirling to face her. "What do you want me to say? 'Please don't sleep with other guys, it hurts my feelings'? Grow the fuck up!"
She crossed her arms, eyes blazing.
"I just thought maybe I meant a little bit more to you than a shag, after what? Five months?"
A cruel laugh escaped my lips.
"Whatever gave you that impression? When have I ever said you mean anything to me?"
Corrina recoiled, her anger crumbling into hurt.
"Well...Thanks for the clarity." She whispered.
I turned away, focusing on my shoes, ignoring the pounding in my head.
As I reached for the door, Corrina's voice lashed out again.
"You're heartless, you know that?"
I paused, hand on the doorknob. "You knew exactly what I was before you got with me."
"You're right." She choked out, a sob threatening to break free. "My bad."
I yanked the door open, eager to escape.
"You're a fucking asshole, Mattheo Riddle!" Corrina screamed after me. "I never want to see your ugly scar face again!"
As I strode down the corridor, I couldn't ignore the hostile glares and whispers.
I escaped into the courtyard, lighting a cigarette.
My insides churned.
"Guess that's over." I muttered, exhaling smoke.
An acrid scent cut through my thoughts. Burning?
I followed the smell, It led me to an open window in the library.
"Shit!"
I flicked away my cigarette and sprinted towards the library.
Bursting through the study room door, I was hit by a wall of heat and smoke.
The room was an inferno. Through the flames, I spotted a flash of red hair on top of a desk.
"What the hell did you do?!" I shouted, coughing as smoke filled my lungs.
Lyanna's voice cracked through the roar of flames.
