Mattheo's POV

"Fuck, why'd they all have to come together."

Enzo muttered between me and Theo as we walked to the Great Hall to get our exam results.

His face was a mixture of dread and embarrassment, his usual confident demeanour replaced by nervous energy.

He told us about hooking up with Pansy, and even though I already knew about it, I played along and burst into laughter with Theo at Enzo's distraught expression

He told us about hooking up with Pansy, and even though I already knew about it, I played along and burst into laughter with Theo at Enzo's distraught expression.

Theo slapped Enzo's back, nearly knocking him off balance.

"Don't worry mate, I'm sure it won't be awkward in the slightest."

He mocked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

I couldn't help but smile as we approached the girls.

The corridor was buzzing with nervous energy, students chattering about their potential results, some looking green with anxiety.

Lyanna immediately caught my eye, and I shot her a wink.

She tried to hide a smile but failed, a faint blush colouring her cheeks.

The sight of her made my heart skip a beat.

There was an awkward silence when we stood in front of the girls.

Pansy and Enzo were trying to avoid each other's gaze, both suddenly finding the stone floor fascinating.

The tension was so thick you could cut it with a severing charm.

Astoria cleared her throat, breaking the silence.

"Let's get this over with."

She said, her voice a mixture of excitement and anxiety.

Pansy linked her arm with Astoria's, and we followed behind quietly.

My eyes drifted to Lyanna's ass as it swayed in front of me, her walk confident yet graceful.

We'd barely been apart since Sunday.

After our massive breakfast — because a deal's a deal — we just lay in her bed and talked for hours.

The memory of it warmed me from the inside out.

She went into more detail about her upbringing, the group home, and the bullies.

Talking about Olivia brought her to tears, but I explained the fire wasn't her fault, it was an accident.

Whether she actually believed me or not was another thing, but I hoped my words offered some comfort.

I, too, went into more detail about Alfred, my father, and the cruel things I was subjected to growing up.

She didn't judge me or blame me either.
