'She did it right there, out on the deck
Put her canine teeth in the side of my neck'

1919, Birmingham

Groaning, Ada was pushing hard with Rowena holding her hand, letting her squeeze her hand as hard as she needed. Polly was sat at Ada's other end with Esme. "Keep going. That's right, push!"

Ada's scream got louder which caused the other women to share worried looks. Esme felt around Ada's belly, "I think it might be the wrong way 'round." Polly looked at her. "I attended my three sisters."

Polly then felt around Ada's belly, too. "I think you're right."

"We need to lean her forward, Ro, can you help her up?" Esme urgently said, it was less of a question more as a demand.

"Come on, Ada."

"It's not long to go now, darling." Ada screamed. "Push! Two, three." Polly coached. Ada kept screaming and letting out heavy breathes but it was over. Ada was sitting by the fire place, holding her newborn baby as the other women in the house cleaned up.

"Come on, open up!" Freddie's muffled voice sounded from outside the house. Winnie went to open the door as Polly gave Ada some herbal tea.

"He's beautiful." She stated.

Rowena moved out of the way so Freddie could make his way to his wife and baby. "It's a boy, Freddie." Ada smiled.

"It's a beautiful baby boy." Freddie whispered in disbelief as he looked at his baby. Ada passed him over to her husband, a very sweet moment. "Welcome to the world, son." Esme and Winnie were watching from a distance as Polly worked in the kitchen.

Winnie hoped that someday she and Tommy will have kids. A nice big house, and a field for their kids to run and play in. Her thoughts were soon interrupted when there was banging on the front door. "Open up! Police!"

Esme rushed to the front door and the married couple sat up in alarm. "Freddie?..."

"Here, take him." He handed his son back to his wife.

Esme tried to push the door closed as the police used a ram to break it open. "You can't come in here! There's a baby just been born-!" The men didn't care, instead the pushed her into the wall roughly.

"Freddie-" Ada called again.

Polly stood in front of the couple, trying to be a barrier but the officers shoved her out of the way, too. "There's a baby!"

"Don't do this-" Freddie begged as the officers grabbed him.

"Don't hurt him! Freddie!" Ada cried out. Winnie tried to pull Ada back as she was holding her newborn baby and there was a fight in front of her.

"Don't get too close Ada, the baby!"

The officers were yanking at his body, shoving him into the wall and hitting him. Ada kept yelling, "you're hurting him, leave him alone!"

"You're taking me away from my baby!" Freddie cried out. "Ada!"

"Freddie!"

Esme watched from the doorway as the father was being pulled away from his family. Polly held Ada up as she broke down. She motioned for Winnie to take her place as she stormed out of the house to see the boys in the Garrison.
