chapter twenty five. vermithor and silverwing
ALAESSA walked with Jacaerys behind her, into the council room, the council man and the hand of the queen, Lord Corlys.
"The queen is unharmed," Alaessa spoke, loudly, her voice making the men around the room eyes stay on hers.
"What of the rider? Do we know who he is?" Lord Corlys asked, the guard behind the children spoke up, "He appears to be a shipwright in your employ, Lord Hand."
Alaessa raised her eyebrows, confused, "A commoner? With respect to your workers, Lord Corlys, the lowborn cannot go around seizing dragons. Has the thief been secured?" One of the lords asked, "Her Grace has commanded that he remain here as a guest. She wishes him to be instructed in the art of dragonriding, and that I should teach him some High Valyrian-" The maester spoke up causing both Alaessa and Jacaerys to frown.
Not only is the new dragon rider a commoner, not of the blood of old Valeriya. As of Alaessa and Jacaerys. But now it seems as if anyone could claim a dragon, making Jacaerys feel worthless, like he's just like everyone else.
"—We know nothing about this man, save that he is lowborn. What say you, Lord Hand?" The attention went to Lord Corlys, whom still seemed to be in shock, "We will await the queen's accounting...before passing judgment."
Alaessa watched as Jacaerys and Baela exchanged glances, "Where is the queen?"
"Her Grace sends word she will not be attending."
Alaessa could feel Jacaerys anger, and she looked at him which he turned to his sister, "Breathe Jacaerys," She whispered just enough for him and only him to hear.

ALAESSA had taken a walk in the halls, when Jacaerys steps were behind hers, she'd stopped to see him, "Jace?"
Jacaerys face was red and angry, "Join me to see our mother," He spit and Alaessa eyes widen at his words but followed after him as he strutted this way to Rhaenyra.
"The lowborn claiming dragons, was it her idea? Lady Mysaria?" Jacaerys' first words were and Alaessa stayed behind Jace, "You were enthusiastic enough when Ser Steffon made his claim," Rhaenyra watched her son pace around the room.
"He was the Lord Commander of your Queensguard. Heir to the Dun Fort. These people are–"
Alaessa didn't know how to feel about the situation, the whole commoners can claim dragon just as she can, "Courageous."
