chapter three. the department of rhaenyra

ALAESSA stood with her brothers as Ser Harwin Strong was taking his leave to Harrenhal, "Be good to your mother, lads," Ser Harwin stood up from looking at little Luke and turned to Alaessa, his only daughter.

"Alaessa, i'm very proud of you— more so for whom you've become," Alaessa smiled, deep down she knew he was her father, Rhaenyra watched them, "Will—" Alaessa chocked on her words, "Will we ever see you again?" She asks and he places a kiss on her head along with Jacaerys next to her.

"I'll visit when I can. But that may be some time," Alaessa felt some tears in her eyes so she went over to her mother, and side hugged her, "It's okay my sweet girl," Rhaenyra's whisper to her daughter.

Ser Harwin came over to them, "I will return. I promise," He spoke to Alaessa who's at her mothers side, Alaessa nods to ser Harwin, He then turns to Rhaenyra and the baby in her arms makes a noise, and Harwin puts his lips to the babies head.

"I will be a stranger when we meet again," Alaessa looks between Harwin and Rhaenyra knowingly, the looks they give each other, it all clicked in for Alaessa.

"Princess."

Ser Harwin picked up his baggage and walked out the door, both Jacaerys and Alaessa ran out the door to watch him leave, "We will exchange letters by raven. Won't that be fun?" Rhaenyra tells her two children as she held her youngest son in her arms, "Is Harwin Strong our father?" Jacaerys asks as he stand with his sister.

"Are we bastards?" Jacaerys had heard the word all his life, "You two are Targaryen's. That's all that matters," Rhaenyra tells the two and kisses both their heads.

"ALAESSA."

The young girl turned at her name, it was Rhaenyra she strolled in the apartments, with baby Joffrey in her arms.

"Mother. Is all alright?" Rhaenyra grinned, taking a seat next to her daughter, "Yes. But I must say that the handmaidens will be packing quite soon."

Alaessa tilled her head to the side out of confusion, "Why?"

Rhaenyra used her free hand to place a soft hand on her daughters cheek, "We are leaving for Dragonstone."

Alaessa opened her mouth to ask many questions but Rhaenyra laughed it off, "Sweet girl don't worry your mind. Your father and I decided this decision would be for the best."
