chapter eight. the black wedding
ONE MOONS LATER
ALAESSA awoke with a wetness between her legs, she'd looked down to see what had happened and she saw dark red blood.
A soft gasped left the Princess lips, Alaessa yelled for her handmaidens, which they rushed in and saw the scene before them.
"My lady, all is alright. I shall inform the Queen."
Alaessa stood up from her bed, and the handmaidens helped her change and dress herself, just when they had started the princess' hair was when Queen Alicent strutted in.
"You've bled."
"Yes. Your grace, we've changed the sheets and changed the Princess."
"Very well."
Queen Alicent informed Alaessa what was to happen with this day on, that with becoming of age and she'd bled that she must wed Aemond.
Hearing the words of wedding Aemond caused a small amount of blush to arise on her cheeks. Her and Aemond had been sharing small kisses some days.
"When?" Alaessa asked, wanting to know the wedding date.
"I must speak with the king, his illness been getting worse."
Alaessa nodded and Queen Alicent took one last look at her and turned, Ser Criston going along with her.
Alaessa has taken a walk in the gardens, not with Lady Elaena. She did find Princess Helaena bent down looking at the flowers.
"Helaena?"
Helaena turned to her name and smiled, "Oh! Alaessa! I've been meaning to give you something, it was for your name day, but it seemed you have slip out early."
Alaessa nodded, "My apologies, Helaena."
Helaena waved her off and brought forth a small box, Alaessa opened the box and saw a ring, a red one, "Oh Helaena—"
"We have matching," Helaena turned her hand over to show the ring she wore, it was a green ring.
"It's quite a beauty."
Helaena stood there with a smile as she watched Alaessa put on the red ring, "Alaessa? Whom give you that?" Helaena pointed to her neck where Aemond' necklace hung.
