"Of course, I'd try to give him my card. In case he had to pay something." I say, rolling my eyes as though it were obvious why I found the gesture rude.

"I would have done the same thing had you tired of that with me." He said teasing.

Just then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," I say.
Edison walks in, and he looks at me confused.

"Feeling alright?" Edison asked, his eyebrows arched.

"Yes. Just a bit tired." I say with a small smile.

"Well, what time did you go to sleep?" Edison asks me as he walks in, leaving the door ajar.

I gulp my spit.
"I don't know," I say quickly.

"I'm so glad you are bad at lying; if you decide to become our submissive, it makes our job a lot easier," Jeremy says as he sits in the chair in the corner.

"What time did you go to bed last night, Mer?" Edison asks me again, his voice slightly more stern.

"Well, I didn't per say," I say as I fiddle with my fingers.

"You didn't at all?" Jeremy asks.

"Well, no, not exactly," I say avoiding their piercing gaze.

"It's a yes or no question. Did you go to sleep at all last night?" Edison asks again, his voice still stern with me.

"No," I reply quickly.

"Why not?" Jermery asks

"Well, I didn't want to wake Edison up in case I had another nightmare. It's no big deal. Anyway, I plan on staying at a motel starting tomorrow or tonight. So I can keep you safe; my dad could hurt you." I explain.

"Meredith, you need to heal and to do that, you need to sleep," Jeremy says scolding.

"You don't have to worry about waking me up; I don't mind it; in fact, whenever I say you have this nightmare hearing how you sound, I don't think anyone should go through that alone. As far as the motel room goes, there's no way that's going to happen; I'm forbidding it." He explains to me as he leans against the wall, crossing his arms and intimidating me.

"Forbid it?" I scoffed.

"Yea. Honestly, Meredith, I'm not scared of your dad, nor will I ever be. He's not made contact; maybe he came to his senses and left town, but I'd rather you stay here than be alone, especially alone in that part of town. No, it's not going to happen. Regardless if you sign anything. That's not happening. Especially if you do sign the papers you will be staying with here regardless or with Alex, Dexter, or Jermery. That's all according to behavior and schedules and stuff like that. I'll let you look at the contact after you eat breakfast." He explains his voice is dominant.

"I'm not hungry right now," I say not wanting to be a bother.

"Meredith," Jermery says sternly, surprising me slightly.

"Fine," I say fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

"Are you two always so bossy?" I say, mumbling to myself.

"Bossy?" Jermery says.

My eyes widen slightly.

"Okay super-hearing." I chuckle softly.

"Alrighty, you are all done. I'm going to take the IV out. Now." Jermery continues.

I now have a bandage on my arm.

"How are you feeling overall?" Edison asks me.

"Just pretty sore. My ribs hurt pretty bad, and my arm. It was a big pain trying to hook the back of my bra. Why do you ask?" I ask Edison, his gaze intense and focused.

"Well, when you eat, you can have some pain medications; it's best to take them with food so it doesn't upset your stomach," Edison explained.

"I can make something." I offer.

"Nope, I'm going to," Jeremy says.

"I can help you," I tell him with a smile.

"No, maybe some other time when you aren't hurting so bad. Fair enough? You need to be resting." Jermery replied to me with a sincere smile.

"Are you telling me no?" I question.

"Well, more politely obviously. I can't just say no without giving you a reason as to why I'm saying no." Let's go. He says walking out the door, followed by Edison. I follow behind their towering figures.

"Do you have any preferences?" Edison asks, rummaging through the fridge, getting stuff for Jermery.

"No. Honestly, I could eat a granola bar." I reply.

"No." They replied at the same time.

"Jezze, Louise," I mumbled, sitting at the bar, watching them.

I watch them not as they work in unison, not even saying what the other is going to do but cooking like a team.

Edison's phone goes off.
"Hello?" He says, putting the phone in his ear.

"Yeah, she is. Okay. Alight, we will see you in 10." Edison replied to the other person.

There was a plate placed in front of me. Along with water and medicine. They sit on the opposite sides of me with their plates.
I slowly begin eating.

The two men beside me were eating quickly.
Eyeing me now and then.

I take the medicine. Taking a few more bites of food.

"Do you only like water?" Edison asks.

"Just depends on my mood, but normally yes," I replied to Edison, looking at him. He was dressed in more normal clothing, his tattoos more present in his arms. As well as Jeremy making them somehow more attractive but yet at the same time intimidating.

After a while, the front door is opened.
Alex and Dexter walk in.
"It drives straight, so no worries on that note," Dexter says sliding name my keys.

"Thank you. I pause, waving my arm around awkwardly. All." I say with a small smile.

"Well, you are welcome. I wanted to." Dexter says.

"You look so nervous; it's cute," Alex says, leaning against the wall.

Puff "Don't call me out like that; it's embarrassing." I say with a laugh.

"Why? I'm pretty sure each one of us can tell you are nervous." Edison says.
