"Are you feeling alright?" Dexter asks, furrowing his brows.

"She's just tired," Jeremy explained.

"Tired?" Dexter asks this time directed at me.

"Yep, tired," I say awkwardly knowing; he wanted me to elaborate as to why I am tired.

Alex softly laughs. "You know what he was asking," he says, looking at my playful disappointment.

"Well, I just stayed up reading," I say with a tight smile.

"Well, maybe if you didn't have your phone to read to stay up, it wouldn't be a problem," Dexter says, his eyes serious.

"It's not a big deal; it's the weekend," I say with a bigger smile.

"Are you ready to read over the contact?" Edison asked me. Holding a stack of papers.

"Yeah, but I'm probably going to read it alone," I say, not looking at them.

"May I ask why?" Alex asks me carefully.

"Well, honestly, it's probably best to research on my own. So understand everything." I say

"Well, if you have questions, we could answer them," Dexter explains.

"I don't want to look clueless, so I'd rather not ask 500 questions when I can just look up everything," I say carefully.

"Fine, but we'd still like to be there," Jeremy says.

"Whatever, just like out on a movie or something, so I don't feel like you're watching me. It makes me nervous," I say with a small chuckle.

"Deal," Edison says with a smirk.

He hands me the paperwork.
"Red out the ones you aren't interested in. Yellow for unsure. Green if you are interested," he says, handing me a red Sharpie and a yellow and green highlighter.

"Fair enough," I say, holding them.
Then I follow them into the movie room. Sitting in the corner of the couch. I begin to read the text in front of me.

Reading about the different types of play, rewards, and punishments. Surprisingly, I was already familiar with a lot of the material based on things I'd read before.

I finally pulled my phone out to look something up.

"What's your question?" Alex asked, amused.

"Watch your movie, mister," I say with a chuckle.

"I'm not sure I agree with all the rules," I say suddenly, more than halfway through.

"What rules?" Edison asks me with an arched brow in question.

"Well, why would I ever tell you if I broke a rule that doesn't seem very smart? Looking at the possible ramifications, I say pausing.

"Well, there would be ramifications either way you look at it, but not being truthful will only make matters worse for yourself, as will lying," Dexter says.

"Well, it wouldn't be lying if you didn't know or if I didn't tell you," I replied.

Jeremy laughs "Well, you are probably the worst liar I have ever met, so if I wanted to know if you broke a rule, I'd just ask. Plus, I would easily be able to tell if you were lying."

"So the rules are non-negotiable? Everything else is." I ask having a mixture of every marked interested and unsure colors dancing across the pages.

"Yes," Edison says.

"I have not sighed it yet. I'm just going to reread one more time to make sure I didn't miss anything." I say it with a smile.

After a while of flipping through all the paperwork once again,
"I'm already on a contraceptive," I say, pointing to my upper arm. "I don't plan on getting it removed," I say, noticing that it says that if needed, contraceptives can be changed or discontinued.

"It will only ever be removed if we feel like it is harming you in some way, and then we will try to find other methods that may work for you," Jermery says.

"Okay," I say, flipping until I get to the last page.

"Can I sign it in pen, or are you looking for a blood oath?" I ask with a laugh.

"You are going to sign it?" Dexter was practically shocked.

"Well, I'm very unexperienced, so I'm assuming if anything, you guys would be the ones to end the contract," I say before looking down to sign it.

I sign my name carefully, writing the date. I tried to calm my nerves.

"There," I say, pushing paper onto the coffee table.

Edison grabs the paper, and they all crowd him as he reads over everything I've colored throughout the text.

"Fair enough. Some are kind of disappointed; we will never try, but if you are happy and comfortable, so am I." Edison says to pass it over like a hot potato.

"Could you not read them in front of me? It makes me feel embarrassed," I say awkwardly.

Edison chuckles at me. "You're going to have to get used to feeling embarrassed sometimes," he replies with a small smirk.

I turned my attention to the TV, not the prying eyes and the anxiety I began to feel.

Dexter looks at me and says, "You know what I find not very fair," he asks me.

"Hmm?" I ask, not looking at me.
Before my jaw is grabbed to face his direction.

"Meredith, you already read the rules. Look at me when you're talking to me." He scolds softly and quietly, as though trying to keep his voice low for just me to hear.

I look at him.
"What's not fair?" I see him looking into his captivating eyes.

"Well, I think it's not fair that you and Edison have already kissed and we haven't," he says, teasing his mouth against my ear.

He whispered again, his voice silky as he spoke.
"What do you suggest we do about that, Bellissima?"
{beauitful}

I shiver as a chill runs up my skin just from the sound of his voice in my ear. His hand gently rests on my jaw, and I'm surrounded by his intoxicating scent of sandalwood and a hint of light cigarette smoke clinging to his clothes. Unconsciously, I find myself licking my lips in anticipation.

Waiting for a bit before his lips kissed my cheek softly, trailing up slowly to my lips.
