The next morning, Sia and I sat at her kitchen table, hunched over her laptop. The soft glow of the screen illuminated our faces as we worked meticulously on creating a fake marriage certificate. Sia, with her knowledge of legal documents from her job at the registry company, guided me through each step.

"We'll need to make it look authentic but not raise any red flags," Sia explained, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Your husband's name is Kevin, right?"

I nodded nervously, feeling a mix of determination and unease as we filled in the details. We chose a template that closely resembled a genuine certificate, adjusting dates and signatures carefully.

"There," Sia said finally, as we reviewed the finished document on the screen. "It looks real enough. Now, let's print it."

With a deep breath, I watched as the printer hummed to life, producing the document that could determine my future. Holding the fake certificate in my hands felt surreal, a mix of relief and guilt weighing on my conscience.

"Are you sure about this, Samy?" Sia asked softly, her eyes reflecting concern.

I hesitated, then nodded resolutely. "I have to try, Sia. For the pharmacy, for our family."

Sia nodded understandingly, her support unwavering. "Let's get you ready for that interview."
