"KEVIN SAID SOMEONE TIPPED OFF HIS DAD, WAS IT YOU?"

I asked mom as she stood in my room

"I was at the dance, Clary..." Mom tried but I snapped "Answer the damn question, Mom. And don't lie. Was it you?"

"It was not." Mom swallowed "But I'm glad that you're safe. And as much as I like Jughead, I am so glad that you are done with that family."
And I scoffed "Done"? I love Jughead." I admitted and Mom looked at me funny
"He's as much my family as you are, more so right now" I tried pushing past her but she stopped me

"You are not going anywhere, young lady."
"I am going to look for Jughead." I seethed "Do not push me tonight, Mom, because I will push back."

I immediately headed to Pops, hoping to find Jughead there.

"Pop... Jughead hasn't been by, has he?" I asked urgently.

"Nope. You're not the only one who's come looking for him," Pop replied, motioning behind me. I turned to see Archie, Betty, and Veronica approaching.

"Clary... Thank goodness," Veronica said with relief as they reached me.

"We were going to call you," Archie added, his expression serious.

"I'm not talking to you, either of you, ever again," I declared firmly.

"It's about Jughead," Archie persisted, and I faltered, my concern for Jughead overriding my anger.

"Kevin called me. He said his dad found a gun—the gun that killed Jason—in a lockbox in FP's closet," Betty explained quickly.

"But Clary, we searched FP's trailer," Archie interjected, and Veronica continued, "We looked through that closet."

"And there was no lockbox. Someone put it there after we left. He's being framed," Archie concluded, and I sighed defeatedly. "Well, maybe you didn't see it."

"We're not talking about the Vogue closet here, Cee..." Veronica said skeptically, and I scrambled for another excuse.

"Well, maybe you looked in the wrong one."

"It's a trailer with literally one closet. There was no lockbox. No gun. Whatever Sheriff Keller is saying he found, it wasn't there," Veronica asserted firmly.

"Look, we need to tell Jughead his dad's innocent. Where is Jughead?" Betty asked urgently, coming up to me.

"I don't know. I tried calling him. I left him messages. He's not answering his phone," I explained with concern.

"In the meantime..." Veronica sighed, contemplating the next steps.

"Should we talk to Sheriff Keller?" I suggested tentatively, but they both shook their heads.
