"Hello, darlings," Ursula repeated, her grin widening as she looked at the group, who were all frozen in place. Her voice was smooth, like dark velvet, and her tentacles writhed subtly on the doorstep as if they were itching to get inside.
Y/n blinked, her mind racing to process the sheer absurdity of what she was seeing. "This can't be real," she muttered under her breath. "First Captain Hook, and now Ursula?"
Ursula's grin only grew wider as she slowly glided into the room, her tentacles making a faint slithering sound against the floor. She surveyed the room with a mixture of disdain and amusement. "What's the matter, dearies? Catfish got your tongue?"
Jin, who had just been about to take a bite of his toast, slowly lowered it back to his plate, his eyes never leaving the sea witch. "Uh... welcome to our humble abode?"
"Nice try," Yoongi murmured, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Well, well, well," Ursula mused as she continued to slither across the room, eyeing each of them with curiosity. "I must say, it's quite the motley crew you've assembled here."
"Motley?" Hoseok echoed, furrowing his brow in confusion.
"It means mismatched, like an odd collection," Namjoon whispered, trying to keep his voice low.
"Oh," Hoseok nodded in understanding, then frowned, "Hey, wait-"
Before anyone could reply, Ursula's gaze landed on the potted plant that Taehyung had saved earlier. She made a clicking sound with her tongue and shook her head in disapproval. "Is that what passes for home decor these days?"
"Well, it's better than seaweed," Y/n shot back, crossing her arms defensively.
Ursula laughed, a deep, throaty sound that reverberated through the room. "Feisty. I like that." Her eyes flicked over to Jungkook, who was trying to subtly edge away from her. "And who might this handsome young man be?"
Jungkook nearly tripped over his own feet in his haste to retreat. "Uh... I'm Jungkook."
"Jungkook," Ursula purred, the name rolling off her tongue as if she were savoring it. "A pleasure to meet you."
"Okay, hold up," Y/n interjected, stepping in front of Jungkook protectively. "What exactly do you want, Ursula? We're kind of in the middle of something here."
Ursula's expression turned sly as she leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Oh, I think you know exactly what I want, darling. The question is... what are you willing to give for it?"
"Uh, we're fresh out of souls," Yoongi quipped, causing Jin to choke on his coffee.
Ursula chuckled, her tentacles curling around a nearby chair. "Clever, but I'm not here for souls. At least, not today." She straightened up, her expression becoming more serious. "I'm here because I've heard whispers. Whispers of powerful magic-magic that has somehow found its way into this world."
The group exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of what to say.
"You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?" Ursula continued, her voice sweet but with an undercurrent of danger.
Y/n bit her lip, trying to think of a way to get Ursula out of the house without causing a scene-or worse, provoking her wrath. "Look, Ursula, I think you've got the wrong address. We don't have any magic here. Just a bunch of mismatched-" she glanced at Hoseok, "-uh, motley people trying to survive."
Ursula's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, the room seemed to grow colder. "Is that so? Well, I think I'll stick around for a bit. Just to see for myself."
