My eyes are locked on Caroline. Honestly, when are they not?

Her race suit is unzipped and around her waist. Her fireproof stretching with her every move. She's explaining something to her engineer, using movements to describe what felt off about her car.

Her hair is in a ponytail that swings as she talks, she moves across her garage and outside to where I'm standing against the pit wall. I watch her groan and shake her head as her engineer looks stressed and annoyed.

I pull myself off the wall, walking over to her while sipping on my water.

"Wells." I tug on her ponytail, her face scrunches up in anger before she realizes it's me.

"What?" She asks irritated.

"Can I talk to you?" Her engineer gives me a relieved look as we walk away, "You seem a bit on edge."

"No shit." She presses her hands to her face, "You just saved Leah." She glances back at the engineer who's already hard at work.

"What's going on, love?" Her arms drop to her sides, sighing.

"The car just-"

I give her a look, not believing the excuse.

"I'm not one hundred percent." She shrugs, "I'm on edge and saw some article-"

"You read an article?"

"Yes."

"About you?"

She bites her lip, hesitating before mumbling, "Yes."

"Caroline." I cross my arms, her frowns, knowing that's the worst thing to do especially during race week, "We'll relax later. We still have three days until the race." I rub her wrist softly as she nods.

"Thanks."

"Don't worry about it. Lucky for you, I have a magical stress reliever." She laughs out loud as I smirk, pushing me away.

Because we agreed that we would slow down our relationship, we haven't exactly had sex. It's been... interesting because all I want to do is touch her, but I know it's good for us. I think it's time though.

"Later, loser." she shakes her head, I go to kiss her cheek but pull back when I remember where we are.

"Stay pretty, Caro." I laugh, walking away.

"Like there will ever be a day where i'm not, Norris." she rolls those pretty eyes of hers and walks away.

I stroll back to my own garage, shaking out my hair while Oscar looks at me.

I don't think anything of it at first but his eyes trail me as I walk around the garage, "Can I help you?" He crosses his arms, frowning.

"Are you and Caroline dating?" Alarm bells ring in my head. What does he mean? How does he know? Is he gonna be pissed? Fuck Caro wanted to tell him herself.

"No." I respond coolly, noting the people around us.

He raises a brow that matches the swoop of his hair, "Okay. You would tell me, right?" Shit.

I feel so bad but clearly not bad enough because I nod, "Of course. We're not like that."

CAROLINE WELLS

Cara braids my hair back, just like all the times in highschool before a sports game. "I'm really proud of you." I tell her.

She scoffs a bit, "That's big of you to say."
